  • The Zenith copyright on this commercial is the late 1950s. Pieces of it may have been used in later commercials as was often done decades ago to trim advertising budgets. William Conrad did voice work as far back as the 1940s. :)

  • Yup, this is definitely from 1966 (probably a black and white print of an original color tint)- and the narrator is a subdued William Conrad!

  • Those old radios have awesome styling.

  • Whatever hapent to Zenith ?

  • I remember being so jealous of my cousin in the 70's, he had a TO and I didn't...well, now I have one of each!

  • i want that mini one at 0:30

  • i faved this video kuz mt really old vintage 1980's TV is a zenith!

  • yes, this is not a 1950's commercial. It is definitely from the mid 1960's

  • We had an earlier model of the Transoceanic. We had it for years.

That's William Conrad doing the voiceover, before he starred in his own detective show in the '70s, the name of which I can't remember right now. Was it "Mannix"? No, I think that starred that other guy...

When you get to be my age, you start to lose your memory and your mind.

  • My Aunt used to have the Zeinith short wave radio in her living room. I remember going over as a kid looking at all the maps and charts in the opening flap.

  • I can tell by most of the models shown that this commercial is actually from 1966.

  • @drh4683 yep, that is when we got our Zenith Transoceanic. :)

  • @drh4683

Second that comment, 1966 would be dead on, certainly no more that one year earlier nor later.
