I feel sorry for the folks that aren't intelligent enough to catch the irony and humor of this song. Its NOT meant to be good, but rather a statement on mainstream music, in general.
It also shows that Keller could have a great mainstream/pop career if he chose that route. The song is excellent for the genre that Keller was imitating.
The reason it's punk like he's Keller is making fu n of punk bands. Hence the vocal sound at parts that sounds like he's speaking through a phone or something and the bleeped out words and everything. Read the liner notes of the album. Keller explains it.

keller, not as cool as it could be Im not really diggin the heavy jam parts but its just me. oh and youve always reminded me of jack black, your manuerisms and all, and this is good, hey you know what you should do i'll put it in caps, you should JAM WITH JACK BLACK AND PUT IT ON VIDEO!!!
Your comment on this song makes the song even funnier. The whole point of the song is that he's poking fun at modern/pop music - so he wrote a song in a similar style ... if you don't get the joke - get out da kitchen.
Love Ya Keller! This was filmed in my hometown of Easton, MD at the historic Avalon Theater. I saw him play there last year, didn't know he was making a music video, too. Great show even though it was "loop-less". I agree with some of the other comments, if you don't know Keller's music and sense of humor, it's over your head. KEEP LOOPIN'
I don't know what you guys are talking about. Ive listened to Keller for awhile now and this is definetly a poppish type song. but the thing is hes ripping on pop musicians. Therefore....its funny! haha also its got that Keller uniqueness and specialness that we all love.
thats the beautiful thing about the new album. none of the songs sound very similar. its definitly not classic keller but i think its damn good. personally.
none of the other songs on the album sound like this. all but like 2 songs are completely amazing on the new album. to all those who are too retarded to get it: he is making fun of pop punk today. it's in the sleeve of the CD.
"...The inspiration came from someone who said "why don't you write a song that sounds like the songs on the radio?" So I listened intently to 99.3 WYSK in Fredericksburg, Virginia and pretty much followed the formula of all the songs in this one continuous rock block. They all had distorted guitar, phone filter vocals and most importantly, they all had the word "fuck" taken out, almost as if it was a prerequisite to be played on alternative commercial radio."
I like the video but not the version of this song. I guess i'm just too used to the live acoustic version. I would like to hear more off of his new album but if they are like this track I don't think I would buy it.
i love this. very different side of keller, but still very enjoyable. Keller is still cool, guy before me, this was the only POP-like song on the album.
Its not supposed to be good. Its supposed to make fun of all the musicians who just put tons of effects on everything and hammer out I IV V chords and call it music. But i enjoyed it. Every second of it.
keller is probably my favorite musician and it pains me to say it, but this has to be the worst keller song ever. i really hope i never hear this at a show.
Fun and funny video! Keller mocking pop music I assume. Hope MTV doesn't take it seriously and jump on it! Hahahaha! And don't let em Keller, I know you wouldn't anyway. Can't wait for the album and the NYC show! Seeya there! Yeah Keller!!!

Heh, that wasn't a lute, it was an Ovation guitar, they have plastic backs.
When my bandroom flooded, ours floated, so it theirs will be fine.
