  • It looks like both 77/78 as it showes two hood styles. I bought a 77 Z new off the lot in 77. The car had no sack ! But it did handle like it was on rails!!

  • I have two 1977 camaro's one regular one and one z28, I love them both. I like the 70's camaro's the best ( with true bumpers ). one of the funny things about the none z28 one is that under the visor there is a sticker saying that its good for emissions, what a joke. took all that emission stuff out anyways. so nice to drive.

  • i wonder if anyone noticed it was a 78 z28

  • @ralanator 78 had a front and rear bumper change and a diff hood

  • awsome thats the way a car commercial should be no flash no cheesy singing and dancing

  • That takes me back, the mid 70's Camaro was pretty much a wheezer performance wise all stock it was pretty slow. But the usuall cam swap, headders, intake etc would make it a decent daily driver. I have a 76 in high school (went to high school in 87-90. Anyway was a cool car back then. Still like them specially the Z28 with the 4 speed.

  • I love the 74-77 camaros

    I myself drive a 1977 camaro

  • Second gen camaros were the ugliest. And i'm a die hard camaro guy.

  • @CaMaRo1RoC89 the metal bumper years yes...but not later yrs, say 78-81 i know they were slow but you can build a 350

  • @CaMaRo1RoC89 70- 73 were the muscle yrs

  • I bought a New 77 Z28 from Davey Chevrolet, it was white with black interior & a 4-speed. Paid $5,600 Sticker was $6,200 It had a 373 posi. Sorry to say, but the car was slow. It was made for handling.

  • Old commercials put the actual cars to shame. They're like the embarassing parents, showing off baby pictures to everyone they see...If that makes any sense. xD

  • it was a good base for a hotrod didn't have hp worth a shit though

  • These cars looked fast, but they were dogs.

  • i saw body colored bumpers and hood scoops in that commercial plus the 1978 model year was released aug 1977

  • gas guzzling piece of shit.

  • hey hey hey my dad had a 77 z28. it was badass with the 350 4 speed in it. better then that peice of monkey shit mustang 2 then again what wasnt better then the mustang 2

  • even the commercials from back then were better

  • For the people complaining about these cars. Name one other country where a working man could buy a V8 sports car comfortably?

  • I'm very surprised to hear the price you 'r talking about,in Europe the old pony car like Camaro 78-79-80 are priced much less than 20.000 usd,you can buy a 78' in pour condition under 9.000 usd,but with 20.000-22.000 usd you can buy a good C3 Corvette that is another world...

  • Domestic failure once again! Looks like shit, performs like shit, sounds like shit!!!!

  • @Coolkid89383 Fuck you dipshit! I dont have a sister... domestic manufacturers always sucked at what they did and always will! ohh, and fuck you once again!

  • @Coolkid89383 I feel bad for you, kido... must be hard to live knowing that your are carrying your retarded mommy's genes. Hate fucken patriotic american retards!

  • @SosiBibuSuka lol...Suka in Russian is "Bitch"!

  • @EvilBraTT and the whole thing means suckmydickbitch in russian slang

  • @SosiBibuSuka lmao...I worked with a russian guy for years and he taught me alot of curse words. Here's one - Sosi ma bashoy huey

  • @SosiBibuSuka .......if that was the case, they would have givin' it a name more like "Sosibibublahblahblah" go bend over and take it in the kunt! your dad called, said he wants his seed back!!

  • @2007kanelee eat shit and suffer, wise guy.... cunt was the bitch that gave birth to a retard with the name of 2007kanelee.

  • it's "zed", not "zee"

  • I bought one of these for 2500 with 40,000 original miles on it. Structure is absolutely solid. Still matching numbers. Body needs work. Cant wait to restore it to what it deserves!

  • shit add but one fucking awesome car i gotta get 1 AAARRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

  • canadiantimberwolf

I don't know about you but I appreciate old cars no matter what the make and would never call a nice old car garbage.

I do agree that these cars were like a dime a dozen but now you hardly ever see them on the road and that to me makes them appealing. I just bought a '77 Camaro from my buddy that kept it since high school. The price was right and even after I do it up I will have a lot less invested than someone that buys a 60's car that needs a total resto.

  • boppin469,I have always been a Mopar fan.I will agree that all the older performance cars were pretty darn nice.I do appreciate when someone has spent years on an old resto project and can understand the passion.Your lucky too have found one in good shape and I hope you have it for awhile because these cameros and the rest are geting harder too find. All the best to you and I hope you enjoy the ride.

  • When these Zeders came out they were like a disease.Every Italian kid had too own one.The Zeds had no power,no style,no grace and my '68 RT could and did walk all over themlike they were standing still.Waste of money and I very much doubt unless your a G.M collector that they'll be worth anything to anyone else.Garbage then garbage now.

  • Hey canadiantimberwolf1 is it hard not knowing? Nice 77 Z28s usually sell mid teens, and we've seen nice ones over $20,000 USD. Yes, let's compare pre-smog performance to mid 70s performance. I'll one up you: How's it feel to know a kid in a 2000 Camaro SS can run your RT off the track? Does it hurt your soul?

  • BonzoHansen, you will never tear at the soul of a Mopar Man.For our passion is deeper and only Mopar Fans knows. The way cars are today my brother SRT Neon would blow the doors of a 2000 Camero SS.Cars today are faster and more performance oriented than 40 years ago.

I have a friend who bought a 1969 Charger RT with a 426 and paid 8900 in 1989.The last time I heard that same car is now worth 105,000 USD and its been appraised as such.I think 20,000 for your Camero is pretty reasonable...

  • @Coolkid89383 "Rice burner"...like I've never heard that before...Mopars do 2 things...Eat Fords and shit Chevy's.

  • @Coolkid89383 You are correct the big Dodge and Plymouth ended their run in the mid 70's due too higher insurance and fuel cost. But even the camero was de-tuned from the massive power they had too 6's and small blocks 8's.Heck even the big Mustang was knocked down too nothing more than a re-designed 4 cylinder nothing. However, when, you can have big horsepower and if your gears are wrong, then you drive with nothing more than a slug.

  • @Coolkid89383..So it makes no matter about HP if don't have the gears. The HEMI is the only engine ever built that was banned from NASCAR.Your Camero (Built in Oshawa Ontario) may have more HP but if the gears are wrong, its just a big waste. The Challenger (Built in Brampton Ontario) may have a smaller HEMI from the 426 and again with the proper gears would do damage.

  • @Coolkid89383,You can get your sorry ass camero with it's singular motor of 6.2 making 426 HP.But in the Challenger or Charger you have 2 motors you can place in..the 5.7 HEMI @ 372 HP at 400 Foot pounds of Torque or the 6.1 HEMI @425 HP at 420 Foot Pounds of Torque, or do you want too go factory Crated Motors..426CI @ 465 HP at 486 Foot Pounds of Torque, the 472CI @ 525HP at 540 Foot Pounds of Torque or how about the 528CI @ 610HP at 650 Foot Pounds of Torque.Gear 3:91 or 4:11. Mopar RULES

  • Right...Gee thanks Mr. Obvious. So the feds had put the choke down where the power was concerned. Anybody with a little knowledge of timing, octane, and breathing could make this car respectable. Also...the 77 Z28 would flat out SMOKE ur 68 Mopar sled through the twisties. These car flat out handled.

  • WHAT!!!!, That a 77 could handle.I drove a Zeder and was unimpressed by the plastic dash and typical GM design. The Camero although sort of a nice looking bit of tech, certainly could never handle let alone performace against anything beyond a Ford.

  • Anybody with a little knowledge would know a simple thing that the Money Grabbing Super Octane although cleaned your engine out,did little for performance if you were lucky you might get 10 HP.Listen,Balance and Shaving and nice Cam would give any car a good shot of performance.Even your 77.

  • @canadiantimberwolf1 do you know anything about engines and octane. Octane levels are required depending on your compression ratio. ie- 10.5:1 should run no less then 91 octane 93 preffered! try running 87 in that engine and you will not like what you hear. im not shit talkin here just know what your talking about before you make yourself look like Sosibibufucker!!!

  • @2007kanelee 17 years old and you know it all do you?My old '69 Charger ran on Super back in the mid '80's. My Beemer (That's BMW for you) runs on 95. When you've run cars that perform on aviation fuel then talk too me.

  • The 77s will be the most valuable of the later 2nd gen Camaros. Prices are already creeping up on the Z models. Why? The Z28 option wasn't released until the spring of 77 and there were only 14,XXX of them produced. The 4spd cars will be worth the most as they had the lowest production numbers. And how many of these cars are still alive today? I'd guess less than half. If you have one, hold onto it.

  • And I bought it brand new for $5,999!!

  • I had a 1977 Z-28 and it was the best car ever. Oh, those were the days.

  • yea i had one of these (check my video) had to sell it to mutch of a project rust ate um alive...but it still ran good only had a huge exaust leak due to crak in header but it still ran strong and was capable of doing donuts pretty easy...

  • why does it say 1978 when the vid comes up if it is supposed to be a 77 commercial?????

  • The best car in the world.

  • i have a 79 Z28

black on black gold striping. 11,700 miles.

    in 1979 the z28's were rated at 175hp 280tq.

thanks in most part to the crappy compression ratio. 8.2:1

its a wonderful car tho. its a absolute blast to drive.

  • helll yeah thats old skool, a classic!

  • whats the specs on the z28...Hp,max speed, torek??

  • Its back with 170 hp!!!! The dodge aspen charger was faster.

  • truth hurt look it up the dodge aspen charger was faster

  • yeah but the dodge aspen is fucking ugly

  • Nah they look bad ass.

  • Hey, This is my car! I have the yellow one with the yellow wheels like in the commercial

  • i wish i had a z28 instead of my LT 77.

  • Camaros are awsome but this commercial gives me the hebejebes

  • and now you can get this car at your local junkyard

  • Or trailer park in oxidized yellow with one brown door, air shocks, rebel flag, hair metal blaring out of the 8-track.

  • OH my... ROFLMASSOFF! That is so true.. That is the best!

  • Back by what? A sticker on the fender? Like all cars in the mid-seventies, it's performance was a joke.

  • except for the trans ams.

  • back to smoke 'stangs!!!

  • Yeah, after '72 most cars were cut back so much in regards to power and torque. These '77s only had like what, 155 hp or something?

  • My dad has a 1977 z28 4 speed :)

  • yippee!!! your so cool!

  • Great 70's commercial, I love 'em all, especially GMs :)

  • hahahhhaah gnarly

  • Love it, funky 70's music
