Really? no fighter jets? Wow... better get some sidewinders and rockets strapped to your 757's then!! They way they fly those things there ain'tmuch that's gonna catch em! In the UK we still have our old workhorses... The Vickers VC10's (40+ years old), L1011 TriStar's (30 + years old) both soon to be replaced by Airbus A330's. Our Nimrod's are 45 + years old aswell. But we do have quite a modern fast jet airforce of Typhoons, Tornado's, Harriers and soon we'll have the F35 JSF.
Actually, the RAF VC10 & Tristar tankers are to be replaced with Airbus A330 Future strategic tankers (MRTT) - So get your facts right. Check the RAF's own website. Who is stupid now? The new RAF Airbus A330's are to be dual role aircraft. They can perform as Tankers or transport aircraft and the RAF even plan to lease them out to commercial airline's when they are not in use. The A400 is to replace the ageing Hercules & complement the fleet of C17 Globemasters.

the VC10 and the TriStar will be replaced by the Airbus A400M not the A330, that would be stupid!
