They felt like annual releases to fund the cash cow and the plot, especially of MW2 and 3 felt like it was directed by Michael Bay. Too much desensitising violence, pro american propaganda and Roland Emmerich style destruction of national monuments. I mean, just look at the ending of Black Ops it practically screamed "Join the US Armed Forces!". I miss old CoD from WW2. CoD4 was my favorite MW game.

One of my high school students was playing this theme on his trumpet and I started singing the words that I knew with it. I said it was a hymn from my church. He was shocked. The music was written by Thomas John Williams in 1890.... yes, you are reading right, 1890. "Once to Every Man and Nation" text was written as a poem by James R. Lowell in 1845 to protest America's war with Mexico. This particular video's version is a beautiful orchestration of music from 1890. Thanks for posting it.

This is one the most unforgettable moments in my entire gaming experience. I had never seen "Enemy at the Gates" prior to playing this game, so the entire Stalingrad/Red Square mission was a total shock to me. Very rarely can a game, particularly a shooter, fill me with so much emotion and intensity.

I had the exact same experience. Call of Duty has its moments... MW2 when America is invaded, Shephard's betrayal, WAW, the Soviet ending was BRILLIANT, COD4, Zakhaev's death scene, the nuke, COD2... meh, not so much. COD UO, holding out in the chateau in Noville was INTENSE, and COD, storming Stalingrad. InfinityWard is great. (But yes, I know WAW was Treyarch, but they did a good job there, you have to admit.)
