I simply don`t understand why this band is obscure, in their prime they had bands that would later be huge opening for them (metallica, soundgarden, faith no more) and i dare say these guys influenced a huge number of bands. It`s interesting that among the general metal loving folk they are not well known but almost any band from the 80`s through to the mid ninetees new them well.

My first big concert ! Voidvod and Iron Maiden back in 1999. I was 16. The concert was at "L'agora du vieux port" in Québec city. I remember the voidvod bass drum was so powerfull that it resonate in my chess...I was afraid that my heart miss one beat. I saw them 4 years later with ozzy. actually Voivod were (especially in the beginning) influenced by hardcore and proto-punk bands (like The Stooges) and they merged these influences with thrash, so thrashcore isnt exactly a wrong term. In my opinion Nuclear metal is a term that describes them best, especially during the Killing Technology-Dimension Hatross era.
