  • FB'd to a pal a short time before......" listen to Lasiurus from BatBeg. A most glorious, arching, string composition if ever I heard. And I've heard a lot. JNH and HZ are owed a great debt as to why this franchise was so successful. R.Strauss, Mahler and Schoenberg would surely have been impressed."

  • what a beautiful song. the part after 3 minutes is heartbreaking

  • my favourite track on the album, just beautiful.

  • i think i wanna cry because of the beauty of this masterpiece...

  • This song knows your past, your present, and your future.

  • To each of us falls a task, and all the emperor requires of us guardsmen is that we stand in line and die fighting. It is what we do best, We die standing.

  • @gtgoskate What is this quote from? It's not from Batman begins, I don't think...

  • @InnerspacePictures search in youtube "We die standing" and click the second link. That is what i am referring to

  • If you make yourself more than just a man, if you devote yourself to an ideal and if they can't stop you, you become something else entirely – a legend, Mister Wayne.

  • 6:25

    <3

  • Darnit Nolan, how come your films have the most beautiful, sweeping and epic scores since the golden age of Hollywood?

  • @Muskateering because of the genius named Hans Zimmer

  • Christopher Nolan's depiction of the darker, moodier, melancholic Batman along with Hans Zimmer's and James Newton Howard's soundtrack is just absolutely amazing.

I grew up watching those older, shitty-ass popcorn flicks like Batman and Robin and I found nothing but cheap-one-liners and pathetic bubble-gum soundtracks.

This track and Corynorhinus are just absolute master-pieces as they really capture the beautiful essence of Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight.

  • @Shadowofdeath234 well spoken

  • The introspection, the fall, the pain and... the salvation this piece of music brings is brutal to those who have walked it all.

  • This story tells us to fight while we have the strength to resist fear and go on.

  • They told me there was nothing out there, nothing to fear. But the night my parents were murdered I caught a glimpse of something. I've looked for it ever since. I went around the world, searched in all the shadows. And there is something out there in the darkness, something terrifying, something that will not stop until it gets revenge... Me.

  • At around 5 minutes in you can't help but think of the tragedy that Bruce has endured, then it gets to 6:25, he rose above it all, becoming more than just a better man, but a legend, a silent guardian, a watchful protector, a Dark Knight.

  • maravilha de postagem, a música é demais poderosa.

  • The last section at 6:20 with Batman standing atop the statue watching over the city like a gargoyle after hanging Falcone on the searchlight was just possibly one of the most epic Batman moments ever.

  • @OmegaOwA If only there was more of that in The Dark Knight. Hopefully there will be in The Dark Knight Rises

  • Why are none of my comments posting anymore....just saying I love this track and that I recently bought this soundtrack

  • Just bought this soundtrack....haven't listened to it thru all that extensively, but I love this track.....very moving.

  • "I will not give up, I will not go without a fight, I will not die here, I will always stand, Win or loose, I will fight till the end."

  • from 2:58 to the end they can use this song as an ending theme to batman 3...It would be a great theme...and why not they used one of the other tracks(barbastella) from this soundtrack as an ending theme for the dark knight...

  • @wolfman8796 Agreed! :D

  • Never have seen Batman, not my style and I dislike the figure. But I love Hans Zimmers music very much, doesn't matter for which movie.

  • This is pure beauty. Shivers down my spine. So close to being in tears sometimes!

  • Does anyone know what the theme is that plays from 2:58 all the way to the end? I mean to say, which character/place/thing does it represent in the movie? If I recall correctly it wasn't even in the movie at all, it was only on the soundtrack. Thanks!

  • @kingronan89 Its Bruce Wayne's theme by James Newton Howard, and from 1:35 to 2:56 is Henri Ducard's theme by Hans Zimmer, which is the most brilliant theme I've ever heard in my life, if you ask me.

  • @MurmaiderII Thank you so much for answering! Yeah, I was kind of hoping it was either Batman's or Bruce's main theme, since it has such a noble quality to it. I wish they had used this theme in The Dark Knight, it would have made the movie even better than it already was (which is really saying something)!

  • @kingronan89 Batman's theme is exactly at the last 2 minutes of the End Credits.

  • 3:40 on is just the best piece of film scoring i have heard. The emotional pull oof Batman Begins lies in that piece. So epic yet personal.

  • I love Twilight, have loved it since Jr. High, hence my stupid youtube name, but i can also appreciate GOOD movies and music like so. I mean quit stereotyping shit ! It IS possible to like both.

  • @MCrewe23 - which is why i changed my youtube name. :p haha!

  • The theme of Ra's Al Ghul (Liam Neeson) is so incredible from 1:35 to 2:57. so amazing, love it at 2:36.

Hans Zimmer + James Newton Howard = Music beyond imagination.

  • Wonderful piece!!! There's no words to express that beauty. Does anyone where we can buy or download the orchestral score and parts? Thanks.

  • This movie has the best music of any movie ever.

  • sheesh a yeah it is!!

  • @TheSkepticalIdealist F**k YOU mOTHER F**KER

  • at 6:42 I was freaking out, had my headphones on... adrenaline...

  • 1:35 is the theme for Ra's al Ghul.

  • Not to sound dumb or anything, but why couldn't they have had awesome music like this in such a popular movie as Twilight? Seriously.. Hans can make better music than Muse any freak'n day of the week

  • Popular Movie =/= Good Movie

  • LOL This is true...

  • @Harbltron is transformers 2 a good movie?

  • @Harbltron While true, this was indeed a good movie. Even though it seemed like it was shot out of sequence, it was still a very engaging story with a great set of characters played by the correct actors.

You couldn't ask for anything more.

  • @Harbltron

But in some instances it does. Like this one, TDK, and Inception, and so on.

  • @HQBacon But it is not good because it is popular. Nor does popularity indicate any level of quality.

  • @popshopgirly because twilight doesn't deserve such an awesome soundtrack...this instrumental for example: the pain and doom that this music inspires is based on batman's tragic persona and heroic nature... twilight is an idiotic wannabe romantic wannabe vampire shit movie... in my opinion...

This kind of music is ideal for emotional uplifting and inwards search...It's the descendant of classic music like beethoven, wagner etc. Why give it to a pop corn eye raping movie for teenage girls?

  • @WTAWWR08 you good sir need to be the next prime minister

  • @WTAWWR08 LOL ..well said man..

  • @WTAWWR08 It's hard no to take this music seriously i remember the old batman movies, Batman Forever and Batman And Robin, they just didn't feel right they felt silly. When Batman Begins came out with beautiful music and a wonderfully crafted story it was possible to take a batman movie serious. This is probably one of the most beautiful scores ever made and surprisingly enough it's for a batman movie lol Christopher Nolan made it possible for batman to have a meaning again.

  • @WTAWWR08 you're my hero

  • @BBSterra ty

  • @WTAWWR08

    Well said my friend...well said.

  • @WTAWWR08 erm you can't call Twilight a vampire film, the supposed vampire glows. GLOWS for goodness sake.

Batman is way out of twilights league, even mentioning the two in the same sentence is a travesty unless your saying something along the lines, "Twilight has nothing on Batman."

  • @Leondias656 I am a Twilightfan, but everybody knows that Batman is a masterpiece within the superhero genre wether it is the comic books, the animation series/movies, and now the great movie masterpieces, which brought in most money (referring to The Dark Knight). You can go to google and compare which movie brought in most money and you´ll see that Batman actually tops all movies. It is no doubt, and no question about that Batman is a historical and huge masterpiece within filmmaking in general

  • @Leondias656 Twilight is about fairies. Hence the name, and the sparkly creatures that live in the forest.

  • @popshopgirly Muse and Hans make completely different types of music. Twilight is a terrible movie that is created only for the sake of pop culture. So obviously it doesn't need a good soundtrack.

Either you know good content and avoid Twilight, or you've been sucked into the story and they'll get your money, good music or not.

  • @popshopgirly Because Twilight sucks and Zimmer has standards.

  • @popshopgirly

Hans Zimmer, has class. Epic movies like Batman and Tears of the sun, transformers. Big movies, not like Twilight, romantic and boring. He need something more powerful, dark and often some mystic. You see?

  • @popshopgirly Howard Shore did an awsome score for eclipse, i didn't much care for the movie but the music was noticably very good

  • Thank you!

  • Thanks for posting this truly great soundtrack.

  • 5:45 is just absolutely amazing!

  • incredible music

  • incredible notes in this score and highly emotional, awesome!

  • AMAZING

  • this is probably my favorite track as well

  • My favorite track on the CD--thanks for posting! Captures and sums up the emotions of Bruce/Batman so well.

  • i listed the all soundtrack oh my god now i want to be the batman!

  • You mean to say you want to have your parents killed, have a phobia of bats, become a prisoner in a chinese prisoner, join a terrorist organisation full of ninjas, go under intense training, see the man you wanted to kill your whole life get shot, get your father insulted by a mob boss, go missing for 7 years, blow up the ninja place, and devote yourself to a large responsibility that would likely get you and your loved ones killed?

  • nice...

    good point

  • now that you mention it...

  • Yes.

  • Sometime bad things that happen in your life are a means to stay alive for the good things in your life, no matter how dangerous they are. That's why batman is alive.

  • @darthnazgul Can I just get the training, please? =[
