  • Oooh, this version omits the "broken all your windows, and ran through all your doors" in the 2nd bridge. Better version on their "Greatest Hits". Plus, there's a bitchin' guitar solo in place of the short keyboard solo.

  • awesome version!!! Thx so much 4 postin'!

  • oops, I meant 1980 album, "Chance"! ;-)

  • Phenomenal! Awesome cover by Manfred with some extra sparkle assistance by Trevor Rabin on guitars (along with Manfred bandmates Mick Rogers, Steve Waller, Robbie McIntosh, & Geoff Whitehorn)..One can never have too many guitarists, especially when they're all so talented! From the 1980 band, "Chance"!

  • The meaning behind this song is unbelievably whacked the heIl out. BUT i love it.

  • The meaning behind this song is unbelievably whacked the hell out. BUT i love it.

  • I think this song is about semen

  • I came for you.

  • I've got to agree with those who say Bruce doesn't have a great voice. After all, he embarrassed himself on the We Are the World which required pure gospel voices. He even made Dylan sound good, but he is great at what he does when he does his high energy vocals, but he just isn't gifted at the "subdued" emotional vocals. Mann does a great cover

  • 2 Thumbs

  • Manfred Mann´s earth band...Ten times better than the old Manfred Mann ever was...But isn´t this song a bit shorter then the original...

I like the singer in this band...Great voice...

  • exactly how many Springsteen covers did these guys do? is it just the two or are there more?

  • I had this on vinyl around 1980 time - definately a slightly different version I loved it then and still do now.

  • man war das geil damals im sound i missed

  • Girl give me time to cover my tracks...Barrons!

  • Wow....I just went threw a time warp and my mind and body is at total zen!

  • These lines are missing in this version -

'Cause they're waiting for you at Bellevue

    With their oxygen masks

But I could give it all to you now

    If only you could ask

    Don't call for your surgeon

    Even he says it's late

It's not your lungs this time

But your heart holds your fate

  • This is slightly different ( I like it!) than the version I have on vinyl. The keyboardsolo is different and I LOVE the background vocal on this "I Came For You!!"PS Manfred gets Springsteen songs and Dylan songs and makes them Manfred Songs!

  • Thank you for uploading this great song! I am wondering, though, this version seems a bit more "tame" than the radio version. The radio version that I recall does not have the pipes in the solo, and the drums seem different. For example, it seems like the china is missing. Also, some of the back-up vocals seem different.

  • awesome!

  • finally a version by someone who can sing as opposes to springsteen raspy screech! he should stick to writing and leave the singing to others, much like bacharach [pardon the spelling].

  • I agree Bruce is overrated and advertised into "saying" he's great . He's not .

  • If you ever heard the Springsteen version you sure wouldn't say it was the best song ever. Manfred Mann turned it into yes, a great, great song. Springsteen when going on MTV's unplugged could not even put his rock songs to acoustic.

  • @prettyvacant2007

[ If you ever heard the Springsteen version you sure wouldn't say it was the best song ever].

How awfully right you are. They made a great son our of a average one.

  • in dsds kam der song gerade :D

  • i have loved this song forever...one of the best songs ever made...i love the lyrics

  • nice and great song

  • love this song

  • Love this song.

  • I wish I could find the full song, they left some things out on this one.

  • This is the single version Just try the album version. It's far longer.

  • Thank you for posting! I LOVE THIS SONG! One of the most underated groups pf all time!

  • Go to the "sly" . almost like the album.

  • sowas hört sich nur Jan an :P

    :-*

  • sowas hört nur jan :P

    :-*

  • this reminds me of Oklahoma City - I believe it came out in 1981, the radio stations there played the heck out of this album (Chance).

  • FINALLY, the NON-acoustic version...I thought I'd never find it.

  • @BahamutINFINITY Manfred Mann did it better than Bruce!

  • This song reminds me of summer nights in Kansas City ...cruzin with the windows down listening to KY102 FM.

  • i gota say

took me A LONG time to find this version on you tube

/ then couldnt find the version with "alota ass in it"

AND the disco version -only 3 words OVER N OVER N OVER..............N OVER

    .........N OVER

this version did it 4 me as a young boy. They put blinded by the lights ass (u know=kick) n ran it through this.

We send our regards Bruce, great tunes, but obviously u were shootin frm ur heart ,

but these guys (took them alongtime to find it too,u cud say) made it kick some ass.

  • its not that nursery mouth i came back for

its not the way you streched out on the floor

  • but manfred actually did

  • I think the version are a bit different, and both are great (but different)

  • no one cant beat the boss' version.

  • yeah, the boss beat that song to death, there's nothing left for us to destroy
