What a wonderful interpretation of raag Nand! The "pakad" is absolutely brilliant. The focus on "pa dha ni pa" is quaint, but captures the soulful nature of this raag. Only Kumarji could look deep into a raag and bring out its innate meaning.
i like to say something .....but speechless........heard it way back in 1989 ....since then everything changed....its so powerful.............beyond words, coparisons, ..for a moment u too have become sort of saint...so beautifulllllll
for a novice curious about hindustani music - please recommend they start by listening to Kumarji's voice........... and well.......... everything else pales in comparison. SUBLIME. thank you for posting

having tremors to post comment on this video .... I m speechless... i donno what to say .... panditji's voice is a connection between GOD n human being......
first heard panditji on a winter morning in delhi - zini zini chadariya. it was like krishna revealing his glory to arjuna. was mesmerised and hooked as a bhakt for life...listening to him is immersion in spirituality...
this is the strongest memory i have of my childhood . . . a national panasonic tape player . . . early in the morning . . . rendering out the kumar in all his supreme glory . . . and my father humming along . . . i am thankful to the powers that be !
What voice !! what purity!! This is truly a heavenly gift. Kumarji's intense creativity is matched by none to my knowledge. Note how he descends in this Nand rendition from rishabh to dhaivat seamlessly, and ascends straight to taar rishabh--taking the raag to a new variation. His signature "aakaar" mode is prominent in the lyrical "meend" in antara.
wow..can somebody post the meaning of this bandish? thank u so much..
