why my shutter speed is always about 1/40 even when i'm taking pictures for example in daylight when there should be enough light?

@Thisislotta Hi, I don't know about 1/40, but if the flash is forced on the shutter speed will default to 1/60 pretty much every time no matter how much ambient light is in the scene. Make sure the flash is forced off and the ISO is set to 100 when you're in the Program mode. Then try taking a shot indoors and one outside. Let me know what happens and if either of the images turned out over or under exposed.

@lbguides when i took the picture indoors, the shutter speed was 0,3 seconds. the picture came out okay, just a bit shaky. When i went outdoors the shutter speed was 1/10 and the picture came out fine, maybe a bit over exposed but that might be because the subject was white.

@Thisislotta Hi, it sounds like the meter is working just fine. what happens when you have the camera set just as I suggested before and point it at a light source like the sun and take a picture? If the shutter speed isn't more than 1/40, we may have a problem. Also, you may want to reset all the settings back to their factory default. You can do that in the setup menu.

at 2.33 you sugest that we hold the button in half way to see shutter speed. When i do that i get the Red icon camera shake at the bottom left. it wont go away until i set iso to 1600. It happens even if i have it on the table without movement how do i correct this

Hi, the red camera shake icon only means that given the current ISO and aperture, there isn't enough light for a shutter speed fast enough to hand hold. Even if you're using a tripod, the icon will still display. The problem is lack of light and if you're using a tripod or table, don't worry about the icon. The camera doesn't know you're not holding it. Also, I wouldn't let the icon stop you from taking a picture; maybe you can hold it steady enough. I hope that helps.
