@fullofroubles Good point, but considering how much they retained from the first two seasons compared to the third it would've been a nice touch. Besides, Royston Vasey is where the apocalypse is.
If you havent seen this before I truly envy you my friend. It is a comedy based on small town life in Northern England. Helps if you have experienced it. Do you remember the furore over youtube postings of Onion town in the US? Very similar
I haven't gotten a chance to thoroughly examine this League Of Gentlemen series, as I am currently out and about looking for employment during the daytime (I live in California, and we got hit hard by recession).
The Onion was funny as hell, I remember listening to excerpts from The Onion that Howard Stern would read on his radio show.
I'm gonna be home all day tomorrow, so I'll have plenty of time to check out the L.O.G. videos on YouTube.
I think Tubbs and Ricxhard are a great example of a wonderful loving couple. They have absolute trust, care for one another deeply, share in all life has to offer them, have a fulfilling sex life and care for their son .
Man I've been hoping this movie becomes available in The States, but I haven't been able to find a version online that is region-specific.
I own the entire television box set and I'm dying to see the film. Maybe I'll have to splurge on one of those DVD players that plays any kind of DVD and buy the British version off of Amazon.
not being smart here but i could never see LoG going down in america. it's tooo dark of a comedy. The lack of studio applause at each gag and unconventional gags and very unglamorous setting dont match u.s tastes. i think americans prefer a more blatant type of humour, it especially obvious in any british sitcom/comedy that has moved to the states e.g. the office.....just a thought
I think you're only partly right. It's tough meeting the comedic tastes of 280,000,000 people, so often the bar gets lowered and comedy gets watered down in the States. But so called 'dark comedies' and British humor in general are very well received in places like New York, where I live, and other larger metropolitan areas. Brits tend to think of Americans as one cohesive cultural whole, but we are actually very varied from region to region, just like Europe -- except completely anglophone.
actualy you make a good point. new york, visited on a number of occassions, has always seemed to me to be much more cultural than anywhere in the U.S....and I didnt mean stereotyping americans as one whole, just meant i couldn't see LoG or any similar peice ever making it to a national broadcaster
its a niche thing here in England, I can't imagine an American would be able to appreciate or even truly understand or relate to this. Not because of any shortcomings on their part of course, its just totally English and you need to have been brought up here to appreciate its subtlety. (Yes despite the obvious the most effective humour here is in fact the subtle, understated stuff)
I agree, apart from the Office is pot particularly glamorous. In-fact it is deliberately mundane. But you know this. I would say however that.."SylvanaForrester" has got it right. The US boasts highly intelligent and Comically assertive consumers contrasted with the fiercely uneducated and downright dimwitted. The same as every country. As much as I enjoy the stereotype, I dare say it is unfair to tarnish all Americans with the same Brush.
there is a nice tool called "remote selector" run it in the background of your computer and you can watch dvd's from every region world wide with your dvd rom drive... for "stand alone" players there are region code "free" players where you can set the country paramter to "0" and never ever have to switch anything again
Haven't watched all parts of the movie yet, but of what I've seen all I can say is it's bloody funny. Just a shame LOG Apocalypse isn't available in America yet, but as soon as it is, then I'm buying it. Thanks for uploading.

The first time I saw this I thought Tubbs and Edward were maybe getting revenge on Dyson for being burned and then run over by a train in the series.

Who else thinks "Apocalypse in Royston Vasey" would've been a better title, in keeping with the ones for the first and second series?

@WackdProductions Cause quite a lot of it is spent outside of Royston Vasey?

The TV series was the best thing in 20 years - apart from the first series of Vic Reeves maybe - but the film was a disappointment I thought.
However, the Christmas TV Special was superb!
