A-Team skateboards used to have a contest called "A-Team missions" where a pro for them would do a trick, and if someone sent in footage of that same trick the person got a thousand bucks. Well Dave Mayhew's trick for a contest winner to duplicate was kickflip nose grind nollie flip out. I don't think anyone cashed that one in.

@magtownrep ---- I actually didn't like the hip hop soundtracks at all, when they started appearing in all videos there at the late 90's. Before that, it was metal, alternative, punk, hardcore etc - good music better suited for the way things were. Most skateboard kids were white and acted out like punks, so it was kinda sad when hip hop/rap made it's entrance all over the place and ruined the videos, making the cool in skateboard look like just another mainstreamed music magazine about Wu-Tang.
@BelowAreInstructions the thing is that soo many people from different backgrounds started skating and in there parts they put the music they liked. whats really sad is the kids who started skating cause it was the thing to do.

But hey, if you had a skateboard and looked cool - you Were cool. It was automatic. So all the "cool guys" tried it at least for a while, there was no escaping them - but only a handful kept the actual riding going, while the rest just sticked to the cool clothing style :-) Heh, ye.

I agree about that but I quit skateing when I was about 17 years old (I´m 25 now)because my friend didn´t skate any more and I didn´t have anywhere to skate in the winter because of snow. We used to have an indoor skatepark but they closed it. I was definently not a poser. I skated everyday. It was fun and kind of addicting. I wasn´t very good but I could do all kinds of grinds and slides and frontside ollie and kickflip down 5 step stairs.
