  • At 0:33 he starts amazing accelerated super tight turn with afterburner. Now i understand why it was so maneuverable. Even when fighted with faster modern planes , pilots of them say that ware afraid to dogfight with MIG -17 because of hes great agility and dangerous powerful caliber cannons, so they tried to shoot rockets without getting involved in close range combat.

  • I think the F-86 was probably equivalent to the MiG-15. The MiG-17 was more advanced. The Sabre's 10-1 kill ratio is a result of better training and better pilots, as most were WW2 veterans.

The MiGs are beautiful aircraft! Nice video.

  • its beautiful

  • My father one's of the Mig-17 Pilots and become a base commender at Kompong Cham Province from 1973-1975. His name is Col. Maroth Meas. would be nice if anyone who know about my father or have his pictures to share with me.

  • @Igman2020 True, many USAF pilots were WWII veterans/aces, whereas KPAF only received the most rudimentary of training. And most Chinese AF WWII veterans either fled to Taiwan or were thrown in jail by the commies.

  • @milvipes And those ROCAF WWII veterans who fled to Taiwan took a big chunk out of the nascent PLAAF.

  • @1969captainron A typo, I meant MiG-15.

  • @1969captainron The US did not shoot down any MiG-17 in Korea, the KPAF flew MiG-17. However, the Taiwanese bagged quite a fewer MiG-17 with their Sabres in 1958 over Kinmen.

  • Actually it would whip an F-86

  • Extremely good looking plane ...

  • ahhhh the mig-17 fresco. such power and such sweet moves. too bad it can't out fight the f-86 sabre lol
