@dmacid it was not a travel, the step right after the bound was a gather, than followed by two legal steps....I can see how it can be mistaken as he is moving fast but it was all legal
Maybe they should have played NBA STARS vs the USSR Olympic team. That would have been a better game, especially since the USSR won the olympics that year and had a better centre than Robinson.
@iostojic Are you serious? Perhaps you didn't finish watching the entire video. I asked myself that also, but if you watch the entire thing and realize you have a 6'6 guard scoring on a 7'1 center...Just watch the video.. I'm sure Robinson's tream was like damn, you just had to block him and set him off lol.
There's a video on here where Rodman blocks Jordan and Jordan goes on to Block Rodman about 4 times, almost consecutively because he was so pissed. That's why Jordan was the best, he was a fucking competitive beast
@detroit4lyf you are joking me right? when lebron wade etc etc can lead USA and beat the rest of the countries by an average of 44 points then you come and talk about achievement and standard. Oh wait, they can't even get a ring yet?
this standard of basketball looks so much worse then any of todays games.. make it hard to think jordan actually is better then lebron kobe wade and all of those superstars
@thenintendogamer This was the 1988 Olympic team (Seoul, Korea). David Robinson was considered the 2nd best player on that team, behind Danny Manning of Kansas.
The team only got a bronze medal (losing to USSR in a game that Manning didn't score a point and the "drive and dish" kick out for 3 pointer style abused supposedly good defenders like Willie Anderson).
The bronze embarrassed USA Basketball so much that the Dream Team (12 of the best players available) was gathered for 1992.
SupremeVerticalJump,YouTube Everyone was amazed at the incredible leaping ability and agility! UltraVerticalJump,YouTube, 4 feet vertical! Really soon I'll be eye level with the rim! SuperVerticalJump,YouTube,Amazing!4 feet vertical elevation, my head almost touches the Rim & By itself the video cam is magically following the incredible vertical movements! SuperNaturalJump2012, YouTube, Over 5 foot vertical! My Head by a 12&1/2 foot ceiling! Super Magical Elevation!
This was made possible because Professional players were not allowed to play in the Olympics until The Dream team in the 90's. The Olympic team was usually comprised of All-American College players.
@lengyeang thats what i thought. so how the hell are the NBA all stars losing? That's probably what got jordan going. no NBA player wants to lose to college kids, especially not jordan
@Adkins52 You are so right about that. Lebron is a phenomanal physical freak, possibly the most physically gifted athlete i have ever seen, but he has little to no post game what so ever. MJ's post game was legendary, the best post game i have ever seen, and a 2 guard at it. Great physical ability will get you highlights and statistics, but evolution(devolping new elements to your game) will trully make you legendary. Also look at MJ's unstoppable fadeaway he developed later in his career.
Very good points. The other thing mature MJ did well was moving without the ball to create easier shots. Less work yet almost as productive as a younger physical MJ.
@at1212b Yes indeed, it's the little things like that, that helps a player take his game from special to extrordinary. MJ and Reggie Miller were the best i ever seen moving without the ball. Kobe is truly great, but this is another thing that separates MJ from him as well. Kobe hits game winning shots like MJ did, but he seems to have to take tougher shots because he struggles more to get open, if you noticed MJ always seem to get to the ball with ease late in games.
So where did David get schooled?!?? Jordan's dunk happened because Robinson allowed it and didn't attempt to reject it, because he obviously would have. Jordan went inside and scored, sure, but the second time he went inside, that wasn't even a foul on Robinson.
I rem. when Robinson said "we was doing good until he (Jordan) started throwing that crap (reverses) up." He kept throwing that crap up his whole carrer. He lost that game and kept losing along with the rest of leauge until Michael got tired and sat down. Must have first tasted that crap this game.
And people say they didn't call tacky fouls back in the day? Gimme a break. Neither one of those fouls on MJ was a real foul! I mean technically yes (bc while the defenders had their arms straight up, they jumped so its a foul) but would anyone call either one of those in pickup ball? No. Maybe its bc this was an all-star game...btw I love MJ; this is just an honest observation.
@theraVen27 Yeah they're fouls to us today, but people impose this ludicrous notion that back in the day the game was much rougher and it was harder to score and fouls weren't called that easily etcetera. It's not fucking true. I guess, in a way, I want people to understand that the game has not changed all that much. It's just as hard to score 50 today as it was back in the day.
@HeRsHeYsKiSsz No, it's not. It's really, really not. And Jordan is way, way, way better than both Kobe and LeBron, if that's what you were getting at with that argument.
@eznoob1v1 There were only two short players back then that I remember; Muggsy Bogues 5'3" and Spudd Webb 5'7". They were both incredible players, but I don't see any record of either one being an NBA All Star.
@00bean001, the schooling ahppens in the plays after where he scores and gets fouls of robinson.I mean com on hes pissed and hes just going straight at brobinson drawing fouls and getting baskets.........robinson pays for that one block
@Superninjahead Looking at the line-up, I'd assume it was Muggsy Bogues.
The NBA stars team roster:
NBA Roster - Charles Barkley, Muggsy Bogues, Walter Davis, Alex English, Sleepy Floyd, Mark Jackson, Michael Jordan, Alton Lister, John Lucas, Chris Mullin, Sam Perkins, Danny Schayes, Spud Webb
@92alexheat Your a very observing man, and intelligent but the fact that these players play for money and fame is still there. Jordan had injuries galore, but he still played, for instance Jordan had the Flu. Flu causes hallucination and makes you very dizzy for one. But he still went off on the opponents, Derrick Rose can be matched with Nba Badboy of the Pistons Isiah Thomas, I agree there are some players who play with heart but not alot anymore.
Im just not used to seeing NBA players not cry after they got blocked, you know like Kobe, Lebron, Dwade and other players.....MJ said" You know what instead of crying im going to be a man and school him" not used to it.....Rip NBA 1940-2001

@munkyman951919 I watch Dwayne Wade, but i also watch NBA games as well and i have to say. These players cry alot, including Dwayne Wade and just give up. Thats what i observed.
@TheArtistsLloft2011 I'm talking about the fact that Rondo played with a dislocated elbow last night, pay attention to the league... this has nothing to do with John Stockton, I would agree that Stockton is a better player than Rondo. for some reason im not seeing the "schooling" here. Sorry but the moves Jordan did were not all that spectacular. A couple of reverse layups and a One handed dunk of a steal??? Yeah NO ONE has ever done that before. MJ def had some highlights during his career. These just werent them
Schooled = Teaching you a lesson... MJ gets blocked by Robinson then comes back and takes two right at him and says" ok big guy lets see if you can block these!!". He gets Robinson in the air twice and does two reverse layups in his face. Robinson is helpless against those moves. = SCHOOLED!

for some reason im not seeing the "schooling" here. Sorry but the moves Jordan did were not all that spectacular. A couple of reverse layups and a One handed dunk of a steal??? Yeah NO ONE has ever done that before. MJ def had some highlights during his career. These just werent them

@stewwalk
Schooled = Teaching you a lesson... MJ gets blocked by Robinson then comes back and takes two right at him and says" ok big guy lets see if you can block these!!". He gets Robinson in the air twice and does two reverse layups in his face. Robinson is helpless against those moves. = SCHOOLED!

lol after he blocked mj he looked straight at the ground for a good 4 or 5 seconds, cuz he knew what he had done, and what was about to go down...
