USA Mario Kart 64 competition - Finale - Bowser's Castle

This is the most difficult rack of all. And with the game's broken physics combined (demonstrated with the unfair CPUs and broken red/blue shells), I can see why the guy who played Peach had so much difficulty even maintaining the top 3.

1:38 Hit Luigi and fell... (Costed her the race)

One of the complaints I have about MarioKart 64 (or about Mario Kart in general I guess) is that the AI/computer always keep up with you no matter how amazing you are. Another is that there is a set order or hierarchy of who should finish where. Usually the same characters are chasing you throughout the whole GP. If it was completely randomized at an intense difficulty, the game would be flawless.

I love mario kart 64 and double dash, but Crash team racing was a hell of a lot more balanced, relying on skill instead of randomly getting good weapons etc. imo CTR also perfected the turbo boost thing, even though double dash came later.

If only there was an add on for n64 released in america that allowed online multiplayer.. There is one already, but it is rare and only released in japan. Its called a 64dd. It uses magnetic disks.

IMO the later versions are better for competition, controls are more responsive and obviously the tech. is just simply better. BUT having said that N64 kart is so nostalgic that it is still my favorite. The only problem I have with the game after returning to it after years of absence is that the drift boost doesn't seem to make as much difference as it does in the latest few versions.

Thats the whole trick to this game. You have to get a little lucky to win. If you know someone who says, "They are unbeatable at Mario Kart." Then they are playing with competition that's much weaker than they are, or they get insanely lucky every time.

I'll state it again. Why do they have computer players if this is a competition? Peach got totally messed right at 1:37 when she slammed into Luigi and got knocked into the lava because of it! Peach didn't lose because of the other player.... Peach lost because of the computers. I'd like to see some heads up competition.
