Yeah I don't know hockey, but you don't seem to understand that Crosby plays center and Ovechkin plays on the wing. Ovechkin took 33 total faceoffs last year. Crosby took 1615 total faceoffs last year. I guess your right Ovie should sacrifice some heat off his shot so that he might win 1 faceoff every 8 or 9 games. As for back checking and fighting for the puck in the corners Ovechkin does both of those things and does them well. His D and his playmaking ability are much improved this season.

I think that the Canadian players and fans alike are very gracious towards the Americans when it comes to Hockey. It seems to me that they've always respected the effort and passion the Americans play with even when highly outmatched. You guys aren't near as nice to the Europeans. I'm looking forward to the games four years from now. The Canadians will be very good like always and the Americans who had the youngest team this go round will only get better. Hopefully another North American final.
How good of a leader a player is can be very important. I would contend that they are both good leaders. They both inspire their teammates to a higher level of play. In all honesty I think when rationally trying to decide which is the better player you have to admit that it is a tight race. Their are various areas of the game where Crosby preforms a little better and areas in game where Ovechkin preforms better. I just take issue with the idea that Ovechkin is some bum and can't win the cup.
Actually I'm taking it pretty well. Canada had the best team in the tournament from top to bottom. 50% of the players in the NHL are from Canada so it makes since that would be the case. The Americans are coming up though. For the first time ever America has the same amount of kids playing youth hockey as Canada so it won't be long before we are much better prepared to compete with them. As for this year the Americans played tough and came up short. It was no failure by any means.
I'm a Canadian, and i was scared shitless to play the USA because they are a great team that will get better, while i'm glad Canada won, fuck, we got lucky :P i was expecting a loss after the USA tied it, but the USA has a great team that will only get better, and expect Belarus and Switzetland to be much better in Sochi because those 2 teams are on the rise as well.

Everyone stating the Ovie is the best. I have to disagree to some extent. I think Crosby is better, the penguins just can't get their game together. Ovie is good, If he's not the best he's deffinately second best. Crosby is just a better team player. You have to take the fact that ovie doesn't make his teammates better. He's a puck hog. Crosby on the other hand can be on any line and can make them score or get a good set himself. That's a good captain and leader of a team.

Also Crosby had 14 points in only 6 games in the playoffs and 109 in the regular season and Ovechkin only got 10 points in 7 games and 109 points in regular season. Crosby scored 51 goals and Ovechkin only 50. I'm not saying Ovechkin is a bad player but maybe you should check some stats before you say who's better.

Yeah I don't know hockey, but you don't seem to understand that Crosby plays center and Ovechkin plays on the wing. Ovechkin took 33 total faceoffs last year. Crosby took 1615 total faceoffs last year. I guess your right Ovie should sacrifice some heat off his shot so that he might win 1 faceoff every 8 or 9 games. As for back checking and fighting for the puck in the corners Ovechkin does both of those things and does them well. His D and his playmaking ability are much improved this season.

I think that the Canadian players and fans alike are very gracious towards the Americans when it comes to Hockey. It seems to me that they've always respected the effort and passion the Americans play with even when highly outmatched. You guys aren't near as nice to the Europeans. I'm looking forward to the games four years from now. The Canadians will be very good like always and the Americans who had the youngest team this go round will only get better. Hopefully another North American final.

How good of a leader a player is can be very important. I would contend that they are both good leaders. They both inspire their teammates to a higher level of play. In all honesty I think when rationally trying to decide which is the better player you have to admit that it is a tight race. Their are various areas of the game where Crosby preforms a little better and areas in game where Ovechkin preforms better. I just take issue with the idea that Ovechkin is some bum and can't win the cup.

Actually I'm taking it pretty well. Canada had the best team in the tournament from top to bottom. 50% of the players in the NHL are from Canada so it makes since that would be the case. The Americans are coming up though. For the first time ever America has the same amount of kids playing youth hockey as Canada so it won't be long before we are much better prepared to compete with them. As for this year the Americans played tough and came up short. It was no failure by any means.

you moron. cherry picking is waiting just outside the crease. if you notice on his breakaway goal, he is covering the point man. two defenders are IN FRONT OF HIM, he sees jeff schultz's interception and makes break for it using pure speed to get passed those defensemen, receives the puck, and puts it five hole. THAT IS NOTTTT CHERRRY PICCKINGGG. you are the one that hasnt played if you think that is cherry picking, noticing an interception while covering the point man behind your blue line.

i gave you the literal definition of cherry picking, the physical definiton of cherry-picking in sports, now, the definition you are talking about where you are hovering way beyond your own blue line and more towards the opposite blue line, is inaccurate, when the INTERCEPTION is made, he is WELL behind his own blue line, This is not an opinion, this is FACT visible in the fucking video. Once again, you will require your mothers assistance....I wrote earlier that I couldn't care less about Crosby, but I would take him over Ovie..I think he is a better team guy - my opinion. The fact that he has a cup ring, is the best argument of all...he won with a team that had no where near as much firepower as the Caps...he also doesn't play on a line with a Backstrom type of player...take that into consideration before you start yelling again.
