I know this will sound harsh but I actually prefer if my eggs come from chickens are battery farmed hens rather than free range. The free range hens just muck about, they don't think about what they are doing, they just lay eggs randomly, the battery chicken has time to conemplate the service they provide, I find it more personal, almost touching. It makes me feel good knowing the chicken has endured hardship for me. If I am in a store I will often double check if the eggs are battery or not.

Animal suffering means little to me when compared to human starvation. Meat is an inefficient food as a patch of land that can feed 100 people with grain can only feed 10 if that land is used to grow animal feed for meat production, thus eating less meat solves both human starvation and shrinks the meat industry. However I don't like the shift towards free range meats. Free range is healthier and doesn't hurt the animals as much but it significantly reduces the food output of our arable land.
Where can I download the full video? It's a shame that billions of animals are killed each year just so we can eat them. Us humans have a vast variety of delicious vegan food choices. Why not stop eating meat and let the animals live freely? Imagine if you were the animal - so much misery and pain!

Homo Erectus developed tools and hunting but wasn't solely relying on meat to provide nutritional income. And as a side note, to suggest that humans can't change lifestyles is inaccurate by far.

pigs are not only extremely intelligent but I have a theory that they are far too similar to humans for humans to just eat. People think they are delicious, but the creepy part is, in burn wards they say it smells like ham. pigs seem to have the same flesh as us, and they are used in blood filtering for patients in hospitals because their blood is so similar to ours. People are over anthropomorphizing our food supply. We don't eat pets, but we do raise animals specifically for food. Intelligence and emotion are on a spectrum. An insect will run from a threat. Does that mean we shouldn't kill a fly because it experiences some primitive form of a fear response?

What animals people eat is cultural. There is usually no biological reason one way or the other unless the animal is endangered. This being said, I see no reason not to eat pigs or chickens. People in the US eat too much meat, which is a different issue.

@Sx2san protein is actually not as important as we think they are. We actually need 9% to 10% daily. Protein is an amino acid, and amino acids are in ALL foods, and if you eat a well balanced range of plant foods all day, you can achieve this, along with all the fiber, folate, vitamin c and a and e, as you would ever need. Besides, soy is not the only high protein source, quinoa and kale and nuts and beans are also quite high, and delicious.

We are omnivores. We have one stomach, a medium length intestine, canine teeth and flat molars. Pure meat eaters have shorter intestines and no flat molars. Pure vegetarians usually have multiple stomachs and mostly flat teeth. Without meat, there are particular nutritional needs that have to be met in different ways for people.
Treating animals without unnecessary pain is all I will grant you.
Honestly, we all have emotions. The only thing that sets us apart from the rest of the animal kingdom is our over-developed frontal lobe. That part of the brain isn't even associated with emotions. That's why you can't put all emotions into words. It's such a basic commonality in animals with developed brains. We all have full limbic systems... actually a pig's limbic system is just as advanced and as large as a humans.

OK lets say plants feel, still eating a plant is less violent for life in general in the world and sustainable, the way that meat is produced and the amount of suffer the animals go through is not comparable to what a plant (in case they feel) does. Plus, plants need other living creatures to survive. Thats why their fruits have the seeds so when an animal eats it, walks for a while and then takes the seeds out again the plant will have spread.
So why not just change the way we farm and kill animals instead of abstaining from animals. If every human stopped killing it would mess up the food chain. Cows would go extinct and maybe chickens depending on were they were released

When you put a dog to sleep. It's HUMANE. If you were to keep the dog all it's life in a space where he could hardly move, full of infections and disease, no chance of adequate social interaction, that is CRUELTY.

I see absolutely no problem in eating other animals as long as they are treated with respect while they are alive. Sadly this often doesnt happen. I also think every meat eater should be forced to kill an animal at least once in their life before they eat it. This would give people a better appreciation of what is happening when they eat meat. I will agree its not entirely a matter of intelligence, the animal muscles that we eat are a rich source of protein and tastes great. they are nonetheless lower life forms in terms of intelligence which contributes to our dominance over them and our ability to farm them for food. Well, we have both kinds of teeth. We have incisors for meat and we have molars for plants. I eat meat, but only eat free range and organic. Most industrial farms treat animals terribly. Imagine animals capable of doing the things shown in the video being cooped up for their entire lives only to be killed for meat.

I have just started going vegetarian, and now I realize, our country presses to hard and to much on animal meat. I could hardly find anything to eat other than beans and bread and fruit and vegetables. But still think the choice is worth it, even if my parents don't!
If not, consider that for some animals it would suffice to do some instinct-driven tasks in order to eat. But these developed intelligent behaviour to solve more complex tasks.

I know this will sound harsh but I actually prefer if my eggs come from chickens are battery farmed hens rather than free range. The free range hens just muck about, they don't think about what they are doing, they just lay eggs randomly, the battery chicken has time to conemplate the service they provide, I find it more personal, almost touching. It makes me feel good knowing the chicken has endured hardship for me. If I am in a store I will often double check if the eggs are battery or not.

Animal suffering means little to me when compared to human starvation. Meat is an inefficient food as a patch of land that can feed 100 people with grain can only feed 10 if that land is used to grow animal feed for meat production, thus eating less meat solves both human starvation and shrinks the meat industry. However I don't like the shift towards free range meats. Free range is healthier and doesn't hurt the animals as much but it significantly reduces the food output of our arable land.

All three are separate species of humans who had different anatomies and caloric / nutritional needs. Now back to physiology, when "modern" hunting started during Homo Erectus' time, humans had by then evolved to be able to eat meat, but humans have been eating fruits for millions of years longer and can metabolize them better than most foods.

Homo Erectus developed tools and hunting but wasn't solely relying on meat to provide nutritional income. Neanderthals did eat almost exclusively meat from large mammals, but they lived in a different climate and are a separate species from us that diverged and are not us. And as a side note, to suggest that humans can't change lifestyles is inaccurate by far.

What animals people eat is cultural. There is usually no biological reason one way or the other unless the animal is endangered. This being said, I see no reason not to eat pigs or chickens. People in the US eat too much meat, which is a different issue.
I would be all for making the experience for the food animal less traumatic, which means higher costs and more regs.

Protein is an amino acid, and amino acids are in ALL foods, and if you eat a well balanced range of plant foods all day, you can achieve this, along with all the fiber, folate, vitamin c and a and e, as you would ever need. Besides, soy is not the only high protein source, quinoa and kale and nuts and beans are also quite high, and delicious.

We are omnivores. We have one stomach, a medium length intestine, canine teeth and flat molars. Pure meat eaters have shorter intestines and no flat molars. Pure vegetarians usually have multiple stomachs and mostly flat teeth. Without meat, there are particular nutritional needs that have to be met in different ways for people.
Treating animals without unnecessary pain is all I will grant you.

OK lets say plants feel, still eating a plant is less violent for life in general in the world and sustainable, the way that meat is produced and the amount of suffer the animals go through is not comparable to what a plant (in case they feel) does. Tthe thing people need to know is how the animals are treated BEFORE they're slaughtered. In caveman times we didn't have the anmals in cramped spaces, pumped full of antibiotics and hormones. When you put a dog to sleep. It's HUMANE. If you were to keep the dog all it's life in a space where he could hardly move, full of infections and disease, no chance of adequate social interaction, that is CRUELTY.

Its the food chain. Plus Vegetarians are NO different. Everything they eat is living. Every kernal of corn is killed when that is eatin. Do you feel sorry for the fish that is eatin by a bigger fish...NO. Its their food. Its the way of life. Killing animals for food is natural and is how we all began our lives back in the caveman days. Have you looked around the world, most people are treated like animals. So feel sorry for them, not a chicken who can provide a meal to a hungry family.

Its natural for us to eat them, its the food chain. They may be smart but we are smarter so its their hard luck. I see absolutely no problem in eating other animals as long as they are treated with respect while they are alive. Sadly this often doesnt happen. I also think every meat eater should be forced to kill an animal at least once in their life before they eat it. This would give people a better appreciation of what is happening when they eat meat. I couldnt live as a vegetarian

I will agree its not entirely a matter of intelligence, the animal muscles that we eat are a rich source of protein and tastes great. they are nonetheless lower life forms in terms of intelligence which contributes to our dominance over them and our ability to farm them for food. The decision whether to eat them or not a personal issue. As for eating people who are mentally deficient, although i see where you are coming from, cannibalism is something entirely different!

Well, we have both kinds of teeth. We have incisors for meat and we have molars for plants. I eat meat, but only eat free range and organic. Most industrial farms treat animals terribly. Imagine animals capable of doing the things shown in the video being cooped up for their entire lives only to be killed for meat.

2. As for 'moral decision'- we're all in some level of DENIAL if we're eating dead animal flesh- one day I was at the supermarket looking at the meat section- and then it struck me- I 'woke up' and I realized I was staring at a morgue of dismembered animals. Of course we all have free choice, but it's, at the very least, pretty damn disgusting (and I am not yet a strict vegetarian)

These videos are so blatant at the end. We know what the point of this video is but keeping it subtle can make us heavy meat consumers block the image of the people we don't like from our head. A video with Hamten the lovable intelligent pig might stick in my head better if the video didn't end with the moral attack that brings to mind the image of the tool from the health food store pointing their finger while making the brilliant point ehhh. Don't make the moral decision for us.

I have just started going vegetarian, and now I realize, our country presses to hard and to much on animal meat. I could hardly find anything to eat other than beans and bread and fruit and vegetables. But still think the choice is worth it, even if my parents don't!

If not, consider that for some animals it would suffice to do some instinct-driven tasks in order to eat. But these developed intelligent behaviour to solve more complex tasks.

Go Vegan? You know you are saving one animal life by being vegan. You know that no matter how little amount of meat you eat, the same amount of meat is processed every year? And did you know that for a human to be 100% healthy, we need meat. Animals can't run away when they are locked in a cage or pen or tied up. Do you really think animals on farms are allowed to roam free & are able to escape before slaughter? Animals don't have hands or thumbs like humans, do you really expect a pig to escape slaughter by untying themselves, opening the door, then running away? A lion is a carnivore (despite small amounts of plants eaten to aid digestion), and cannot survive without eating flesh. They do not have alternatives, nor the capacity of higher moral reasoning that we have that allows us to know better. Some lions also abandon their cubs or eat the cubs of other lions, but we do not consider this okay in our society simply because lions do it. We know better.

There's nothing about morals. it;s simply evolution. When a source of energy is available, a species evolves to capitalize upon it.
Humans evolved to be opportunist hunters, eating anything and everything.

If you don't care, you don't care. People with no morals, usually have to be jailed to prevent injury to others, since they usually cannot be helped.

Well why is it diffeent? Pain is nothing more then the evolutoionary nescesity to stop the breaching of an organism's body.
Pain is nothing more then a signal to and from the body about a problem of the organism.
A cell has the same thing, just not the same feeling. When an alien agent causes a stress, the cll repsonds. It triggeres walking protines to send more resources to the are needing healing.

Simply have two negatively super charged hollow spheres, one bigger then the other. Place the smaller one in the bigger one. between the two, add lots of mass, super frozen to the point of almost-absolute zero. The mass will create a hollow black hole, altering time to go slower, thus allowing you to go faster into the future then the relative area around you.
Well, I dreamed that. A cow could not.

I thought about having lots of electrons, but their mass levels are horrible. I'm, thinking now anti-protons would do. Heavy, and negative.
Problem is destroying the matter so you can come out of the time machine.
probably small amounts of matter introduced will destroy the anti-matter black hole, thus destroying all the mass, and allowing the occupant a safe way out.
Of course, another problem would be getting out, but antimatter may work.
