Also, he didn't have a 13 year international unbeaten streak, nor did he ever go a single year (even in college) without giving up a single point, let alone 6 years. Alexandr Kareline is the best wrestler to ever live.

there is a difference for sure. But a big component of mma is wrestling. Being a champion gr wrestler helps and especially if you have freakish power. Damn close. I was a nationally ranked wrestler who at the time was 6'5" weighed 325 and was less than 10% bodyfat. I went to Russia to train with his camp and simply learn. He moves like a 155lber is as strong as a 450lb powerlifter and as adaptable as a fucking virus. I was giving him competition at the beginning of the day and by the end of the session I could not come close to giving the man a challenge.
