What I hate about my Ipod Shuffle 3rd gen are the earplugs. The same way I hate other earplugs. Im about 2 meters high, no idea how much feet that is, and the cable isnt long enough to go from my ears to my pocket. It just hangs in the air wich realy frightens me. And since I live in a country full'o'thugs, I dont feel happy about clipping the $100 or whatever device on the outside of my shirt. Anyway, I like the other features of that iPod.
And thus they chain you to their product line... I'm keeping my second gen. It was a gift, and it works just fine! Plus I like pushing the buttons on the case, not the headphone wire.
i just thought of this now, if you were a left hander then it would be inconvenient for that person to reach across the neck to the other side to click the buttons.
plus often with earphones, the top part that divides into 2 cords going to your left and right ears would very often twist around which is quite annoying.
Apple obviously weren't thinking too hard for this shuffle, they were to consumed with showing off on how nice and small their mp3 player is. pathetic really.
perhaps, but it'll make the cord longer, the cord is already annoyingly long. It'll eventually get in the way, especially when you bend down to pick up something and the cord straps onto somthin and yanks your earphones off, really pisses me off
It's good for workouts and all that stuff considering the size.......But you have to click like so many times! I can't be clickin like that...........lol
if you think about it, its not really that great for workouts, cuz when it comes to exercising, you would need to be motivated and the right kind of music would definitely push you further but sometimes that song can be boring afterwards and you'll need to skip otherwise you'll lose interest and stop exercising.
even if you have certain selected tracks within that playlist, you still would get bored of it and have to modify the playlist again. Some songs are great but dont motivate you
so, whats your problem? if you don't like a track skip it. if you don't want this ipod don't buy it. this is ipod is definitely the best if you just want to listen to music. i hate screens, buttons...
you can find the Sansa Clip basicly where ever they sell mp3 players. walwart, sears, future shop, you name it. its price is around 50 dollars if im not mistaking.

Apple made a mistake wen they placed the logo at the back of this ipod shuffle. If they had it on the front then it would've made a big difference as you could see that its an apple product.

I personally recommend to all ipod shuffle buyers to go out there and get yourself the 2nd GEN one before they discontinue it. Dont waste your money on the 3rd GEN, 2nd GEN much better and design looks cool too.
Cuz wit 2nd GEN you can connect to your portable speakers or stereo with ease and all controls are there, whereas the new shuffle you cant use it for portable speakers, unless they make a remote for it which will cost you even more. AVOID 3RD GEN!!!

Well, I don't really like the controls, there all stacked and crowded on top of each other a packed into one. Thats the overall problem with the shuffle, to condensed. I had the original one for a while, yea, all of 100 song capacity >=( but the main problem I found was its not very flexible. No screen, no speed scrolling, pretty bad. Its kinda funny how my 1st generation, 2gb nano only holds 500 and the thing smaller than a finger holds twice that, lol.

I like to put my hand in my pocket to change songs, no one will see it when I am in the Metro or tram. If it is on my earphone, it seems it is a bit strange that i choose my songs so often.
I think that it's really cool but i think it should come in 9 colors just like the nano and have volume controls on the side like the iPod Touch and have a play/pause button on the front and next / previous on top and on the bottom of the play/ pause button. also i think it should have shake to shuffle like the nano, l love shake to shuffle on my nano!!!

The headphone adapter should be included with your shuffle, if not when buying the shuffle AND the headphone adapter, it is going to cost $100 THATS OUTRAGEOUS for the shuffle! I would rather spend antother $50 and upgrade to the nano.

You know...Apple ppl could've put all these features on the 2nd gen shuffle, but they're greedy and wanna make ppl continue to upgrade. You'll noticed that with ipods, they always add 3-4 new features on there new ipods, cuz if they put everything on there, then ppl will only buy it once and thats it, so they use a strategy to make ppl upgrade, and that is by continuing to add 3-4 new features as ipods continue to improve. That way they make more money. Sneaky bastards

Apple made a mistake wen they placed the logo at the back of this ipod shuffle. If they had it on the front then it would've made a big difference as you could see that its an apple product.

i reckon they shouldve made a black 2nd gen too and make the charging dock a little bigger so we could dock it with a case around it too.
the 2nd gen looks wayyyyyyyy better and looks really nice wen docked, unlike this garbage where you just use a regular USB cable and connect it. How boring is that. At least they shouldve made charger a bit more interesting than a short USB cable. I think if it gets any smaller, you'd lose it very easily, ppl would steal it easily too, at school

the new ipod shuffle would suck for jogging anyways bcuz when you jog the earphones cables rock back and forth so its difficult to get a grip on it at first when your constantly running. What a shitty piece of shit.
most cases you get your arms caught in the earphones anyways and you'll end up wrecking the stupid earphone with all the controls on it and have to buy a new one

one thing this doesnt do is fast forwarding, NOT skipping forward, but fast forward.
so this means you must listen to the songs from the beginning and cannot fast forward to the middle of the song

Can you guys imagine if you accidentally droppped this shuffle into a pile of rubbish containing other crap like chipped wood pieces and small metal stuff? like at a construction site or similar. Or if you go into and merchandise store and saw all these great little clip-ons and metallic pen sets and you dropped it into that pile of stuff.

i reckon Apple made this item to specifically target the blind and old people!!!
for the blind they cant see but can hear so to make it easier for them, the controls are always in the one place, just in case the clip ipod is clipped elsewhere. Voice over helps them too
for old people, they get lazy or too tired to reach down and become forgetful so its easy for them to always remember where it is, xD
So the 3rd GEN is dull and boring just like the old people.

Can you guys imagine walking down the busy streets and everytime you wanted to hear something else you have to reach up to your earphone control to press it. Picture this right, you walk around and instead of pressing with your "INDEX" finger you use your "MIDDLE" finger and thumb instead, so when you press it continuously, people are gonna look and think that your giving them the finger, LOL XD HAHA. If you did in front of a biky guy, he'd beat the crap out of you, lol xD

I personally recommend to all ipod shuffle buyers to go out there and get yourself the 2nd GEN one before they discontinue it. Dont waste your money on the 3rd GEN, 2nd GEN much better and design looks cool too.
Cuz wit 2nd GEN you can connect to your portable speakers or stereo with ease and all controls are there, whereas the new shuffle you cant use it for portable speakers, unless they make a remote for it which will cost you even more. AVOID 3RD GEN!!!

if you fuck up your headphones or you want to use better ones then stiff shit i suppose. I dont like that. pretty bad voice talk too. 4gb means you'd have to press a button 500 times to find the middle song too. what a lengthy pain in the ass. I think gen2 shuffle is better.

Well, I don't really like the controls, there all stacked and crowded on top of each other a packed into one. Thats the overall problem with the shuffle, to condensed. I had the original one for a while, yea, all of 100 song capacity >=( but the main problem I found was its not very flexible. No screen, no speed scrolling, pretty bad. Its kinda funny how my 1st generation, 2gb nano only holds 500 and the thing smaller than a finger holds twice that, lol.
The nano is the best for all out use.

I think that it's really cool but i think it should come in 9 colors just like the nano and have volume controls on the side like the iPod Touch and have a play/pause button on the front and next / previous on top and on the bottom of the play/ pause button. also i think it should have shake to shuffle like the nano, l love shake to shuffle on my nano!!!

The headphone adapter should be included with your shuffle, if not when buying the shuffle AND the headphone adapter, it is going to cost $100 THATS OUTRAGEOUS for the shuffle! I would rather spend antother $50 and upgrade to the nano.

The Apple earphones sound quality sux anyways, so now the fact that the controls are on the earphones, Apple has become quite devious about their earphones, so now you have no choice but to buy only their earphone products as it'll be the only ones that work bcuz of the controls on there, very sneaky. I ain't buying that rubbish!!

I know it was the title of a Digg story, but Apple's war on buttons really has gone too far. I was never wild about the Shuffle because I have a lot of music, but for someone who only had a hundred songs or so, it was great. This is defiantly a step backward. Hanna's kinda cute though.
