  • just picked this up today. it's definitely smaller than i thought it would be, but that was a welcomed surprise for me. i wanted something bigger than a pocket organizer, that wasn't gonna be a pain in the ass to "grab and go" with. as far as those side attachments...that's what the molly on the front flap is for.

  • the "crazy outside straps" are belt loops. great video though. i'm gonna have to pick one up =P

  • for a bag of that size you fit a good amount of stuff in it i have one for my and i find it great

  • Great techie config. setup. As a gear-do myself I like setups like this :) As an idea to the first aid kit consider the Coghlans Pack II model. IIRC it is the hard plastic curved version. I own 2 of then. One in a Maxpedition Thermite versipak and the other is sealed in it's original packaging lost in the home somewhere. Contains enough to take care of most minor/minor-moderate injuries while being very compact and watertight. Only downside is it's a soft-hardcase unlike a flexiable bag/pouch.

  • hello , can you tell me more about the 100 dallar cell phone please?

  • I see on your review that you put a 10" netbook in the bag. I have a Acer netbook, but according to the Maxpedition website (7.5" L x 3" W x 9.5" H), my netbook is just a bit too big.

    The dimensions of my netbook are 7.375 L x 1" W x 10.25 H, so I am worried about the height measurement.

Is this larger than the netbook you used, or should it fit?

  • I understand that you don't like the front flap outside but you could always attach the Rolly Polly and battery case to the flap

  • Yo does a 12 inch laptop fit in there PLZZZ reply

  • @AlfonsFromAtech

nope, sorry the 10" models fit perfect, too small for anything larger

  • @GearBuyersGuide Ok so a iPad fits in there easy thnx

  • @AlfonsFromAtech

Awesome, thanks for the heads up

  • @GearBuyersGuide

those straps on the back are belt loops for wearing it like a but pack or hip pack what ever u wana call it

  • WOW! Very well thought out system. I have been looking for something just this size for my netbook, to put into my larger backpack for trekking. Unfortunately, mine is just a touch bigger than your Dell, which is a bummer.

Like the small altoids tin for SD cards also.

  • The two straps go over your belt. and you can position the belt loop onf your pants between them. That way you can run, ride a bike and so on with the shoulder strap and not have the bag flop around.

  • Sorry to ask a question that I know you addressed in the video, but I couldn't make it out. What is the name of the Petzl headlamp? It seems like a great concept, no floppy straps to deal with...

  • @teddyyoung26

no problem, it is the ZipKa (or something like that) we did a review of it a while back. I really like it, works well, and is super compact

  • @GearBuyersGuide

Thanks so much, I'm gonna have to check that out =) How well does it stay in place on your head? Also, what are the cords? Wire? Plastic-coated or not?

  • @teddyyoung26

Braided, not coated, don't snag hair as I thought they might

    Stays in place well

  • Would an Apple iPad fit in it properly?

  • @swansongusa

not sure on that, have to check it out

  • Curious about that magic jack and how well it works

  • @ViolentKisses87

well, it works OK.. but we don't use it too much

    Sounds like that might work

  • Mate, thanks for your great review! Could you try to put a 10" Netbook in the NeatFreak? I'm thinking of buying that bag for my Samsung N130 and I am not sure if it goes in smoothly.

  • @Conversus

I think it would be a bit too small for yours, this 9" just fits

  • Great gear bag. I wish they had one a couple of inches bigger to allow a slightly larger laptop and a bit more gear. I also agree with your comment on your initial video on this about not wanting to carry a purse size bag. Great review.

  • Something you might like, instead of carrying the seldom-used pad of paper to pad the laptop, maybe cut a similar sized rectangle out of a closed cell foam camping mat and tuck it in. Far better padding, plus it's something you can use to kneel on, if you ever have to kneel down in a spot and don't want to dirty your pants knee. Again, great review of your loadout.

  • Could you not attach a shoulder strap?

  • @weeblefishII

Sure, I never leave it on

  • they are for hanging the bag on your belt.

  • Power? spare batteries?

Or do you just try go on one charge?

  • what size is the dell laptop. i have a 10" and it doesn't fit into my neat freak bag.

  • @ pjprestano

    Doh.. mine is the 9"

  • Love this---as an organizing freak this makes me so happy!

  • what kind of multi tool was that

  • SOG Assist .. we did a review of it not too long ago

  • Man purses are best referred to as "satchels." ;- )

  • great little set up if they ever make a tinny mac i'll have to get that pouch!!

  • here's the thing.. you can put Mac OS on here .. I just need the room on the Hard Drive so I haven't done it

But we are thinking of a second mini laptop to run as a Mac

  • very cool i didn't know that!! thanks!!

  • I recently started using Maxpedition's Tactical Operator Attache' and highly recommend it!

  • will also look at this one, thanks

  • Have you seen the new Maxpedition Jeroboam. Just a consideration.

  • Thanks I'll check it out
