Very nice FF 8.0 and Journey Into Mystery 7.5. I am in agreement with you concerning high grade. No way I can afford those 9.6 and 9.8 comics either. But I can save for a 8.0.
@Burco1 Exactly! I have an Action Comics 252 (1st Supergirl) in a 5.0 but with the eye appeal of a 7.0. I imagine the inside of the book is the reason for the low grade, but so long as it`s sealed in the CGC slab, who can tell? All I see is a 7.0-type book. So yeah, the 9.6 and 9.8`s can go to the next bidder....
@legosaremylife Hey, sorry for the delayed reply. I mostly get them from Ebay or one local store which deals in vintage books. I'm a regular customer so they let me put books on layaway for two months at a time. It's great for the higher priced items!
nice! Im still looking for the originals of Watchmen, I had them years ago and sold them, didnt really care then, but now....now I want them again, never fails...you get rid of stuff you think is worthless and BAM! everything old is new again!
I saw the entire Watchmen run for $75, then just prior to the movie hit $150...but now they're back down in price. Watchmen # 1 is no longer in Wizard's top 5. I bought it a year prior to the movie for $6. But it's true that what's old is new again.
the 1st issue from 1968 of Nick Fury is a bloody fest for the eyes! I would love to own that piece of original art! Bullseye is the classis good bad guy, you love to hate him, Miller did such a great job drawing him. The 80s had some great books contrary to what many say about comics in that era, I grew up in the 70s so I got to see some of the beautiful books of that era as well, its nice to see comics are coming around again, we have some great creators and some awesome books this year!
I'm rather fond of NF # 4 with the white Steranko cover. very iconic. My first comic was Spectacular Spider-Man # 157 from 1989 with Sal Buscema art but I watched the cartoon and Transformers religiously. So, naturally, the first back issues I bought were 80's comics. The black costume issues from Amazing Spider-Man and Harry Osborn shaking off the 'goblin curse' and classic villains like Black Cat and Puma are still some of my fav books. Plus DD, Crisis, Watchmen and Batman: Year One! oh yeah!
Sal draws a very nice Electro! The Puma run was soooo good, I really loved that character. Do you remember the "sin eater" story line? classic books. Batman: Year One is sooo good, I just found the 1st prints of those like a couple of weeks ago, never read them before then, beautiful!
Yeah! I read all those Spideys in the 90's when Marvel Tales was reprinting them. I didn't know they were reprints at first because I was just picking up anything Spidey but the stories were so good that I started seeking the originals. Batman: Year One I came across by accident in that I picked up the trade for $5 at a liquidation sale! I bought the originals at a boxing day sale a couple years later, haha...
Bullseye is great, what a great book!!! Love that cover. Cap 113 is another incredible cover, Steranko is incredible. Wolverine looks like a ferret on Hulk 181 lol
It's funny you should point out Bullseye because I though the majority of people would pass over that book in favor of Hulk 181 or GS X-Men # 1! It seems that a large portion of YouTube videos favor the Silver Age but I grew up in the 80's so the Miller DD stuff was the 'back issue' back then! Plus, it's always cool to meet another Steranko fan. I need to get my hands on those Nick Fury's...

Video responses need approval from you? That is kind of douchie for a guy with 480 kits. Let the haters come, let everyone in, why not?
