The main reason why I hate Maroon 5's Moves Like Jagger is not cause it's popish and overplayed. It's cause Adam Levine thinks he has the moves like Jagger. stupid fagg
@PAULLONDEN -VideoBeat on their "Ready Steady Go Rare Unreleased" CD has a better edited and soundtrack version of this footage. I often take it to younger friends homes to show them "how it used to be".
More often than not, this, as you note, "LEGENDARY FOOTAGE" leaves them all quite speechless. Sad thing about Brian Jones. Seems his mates had little good to say about him, but no matter what clip you see of him with the band, it all looks like everyone was having themselves a good time.
look quick at 1:19 and see Stu pulling Keith to the rescue. This period is when the Stones 'looked' their absolute best, before Brian passed and Keith's exposed armpit period and Mick began resorting to jumpsuits and knee pads. Brian looks better than his damn Firebird here.......wouldn't you like to see a dual perfomance of Bill & Entwhistle..( help on sp pls) ..see which one could just non-pluss each other. Two rocks of two bands. Glad Charlie lost the stache too.
@pazthepenguin hmmm.. I know he played most of the harmonica parts till the late 60's but it just seems weird since hes nowhere near the microphone at that point. But I can see what ur saying
The Concert took place on October 7, 1966 at Colston Hall, Bristol as far as I know. The Stones were touring at that time with Ike and Tina Turner and The Yardbirds I believe. What I would give for that ticket!!! Love the bit at the end of this vid of Brian "cracking up" at the mayhem.
Great post!! It's odd to think that a lot of young people have no idea that Mick was once a sexy, young man. Paul's grandfather was right, being old does take up most of your life!
@boxingin You nailed it, and it's funny you say that because I was reading an interview with Keith Richard today wherein he said "We just wanted to be black motherfuckers."
HAPPY 70TH BIRTHDAY BRIAN JONES!!!! still continues to inspire me and all :) RIP

Clear vocal and tambourine overdubs. With the exception of the fuzz, the rest is probably live.

I remember coming home after being away for 8 months in the British Merchant Navy.
My mother told me that she'd just bought a new record and that I'd "love it". This was the
record, and I did love it.She was 56 years old at that time and, unlike most of her generation,
absolutely loved the contemporary 60's music, especially The Stones.

Brian would sometimes play the harmonica when Mick was preoccupied with singing.
