I'm pretty sure mine was Runescape. I remember thinking it was amazing that I could play and talk with my friends in a game while we were sitting in our own homes on the computer. A good while after WoW came out, and I had a blast watching my friend play until I actually bought it myself. :P I've always been amazed at MMO's because of the communities and that the game is actually populated by real people.

Haha. That's great. I first played the same as you. Dial-up modem... Duke Nukem 3D. I didn't get to play that very much online. That's been AGES ago so I couldn't tell you how it went.. but I'm sure I was like the australian behind the flaming pit.. disoriented and dying. First MMO was EQ on my friend's account. Eventually I bought ES IV: Oblivion and loved it until my friend brought home WoW... I used to make fun of him for playing it.. then I thought I'd try it, now I have almost 5 80s.

basically. KalOnline (very very hard grinding game...but really fun =D) was my first. Then my girlfriend played runescape, so i started playing. For a while (3 years) i was playing Guild Wars. But then i started playing on private servers for KalOnline, and eventually my friend showed me wow. I haven't played since last summer but i really hope to start playing WoW again. Anvilmar or Exodar....maybe some other place. Hit me up, Nospal
