The back ground music and song "Beqarari" are amazing. The drama itself is one of the best scripts from Pakistani writers. This new version went on air in 1999, during the first year of PTV World.

This was PTV at its best. Knowing that he is going to lose his eyesight soon, the hero tells his heroine that he has fallen in love with another girl. As the heroine gets up to go, the hero makes one last appeal, "We can be friends" The heroine replies "Once you fall in love with somebody, you cannot be friends too" and leaves.

That's why he went far away from her.... :(

ooooooooh very sad drama... very sad actually he had to tell her the reason because the way he did is wrong and very sad that he got nothing in his life simply nothing...

he had to see what i think the girl was very sincere she would marry him and happily and she never leave him but he had to tell her...very great acting and best drama but very sad and very sad end this make me very emotional and very sad...but nice acting and good but very sad story...now adays no drama like this.best forever.

Yes, u r right Brave. He should not leave his father and sonia. She was very sincere and would marry him happily. They all would live with love and peace. Eyes are not everything. If a person is blind then it doesn't mean that he leave everyone and bycott the world.

Well.....it was a very heart-touching drama especially last scene when he catch his hand and recognise her.

dude if he had told this girl the truth she would not leave him for sure because she loved him. That would have been good for him but perhaps not for that girl as he was going to be blind for whole of his life. In true love you dont think about yourself at all and this is exactly what this guy did becasue he loved her. Hats off to Ashfaq ahmed. Perhaps pakistan will never get a great writer like him. may his soul rest in peace.

Koi 15 saal pehle yeh drama dekha tha lakin name yad nai tha.aj apni buhat sweet c frnd say baat ho rahi thi k main ne ek dum say last scene bola tu os ne kaha k yeh os ka b favorite drama hy aur finally 15saal baad mje es dramay ka name pata chala so aj he dekhne baith gya....m sooooooooooo happy to find out this.

Koee 30 sal pehlay yeh play dekha tha, tubb bhi samaj aya aur ajj bhi. Uss waqt ki samaj khamoshi de gaei ajj ki samaj sawaal. 6-20 say akhir tuk ka play wo nokk laga jis per sari kahani ka lattu ghoom raha hay, Allah ki raza per insani kawish ka luttu. Insan ba-murad hay ya be-murad, nafa kia hay khishara kia?

Not an exaggeration at all :) This drama series "AIk Mohabbat, Sou Afsaane" was first filmed some 30+ (maybe even 40+ years) years ago in Black and White PTV era.

The Qurat ul Ain episode was filmed in Lahore (Jahangir's Tomb etc). Mustansar Hussain Tarar Sahab played the role of the father, Jamil Rabbani played the main role (he was an actual pilot in PIA later moved to Singapore Airlines), Navin Tajik played his fiance.

@waqasusmans u can be right....but arjumand in this drama is till young...i mean in this drama she seems to be of 25+ and these days, in her another drama 'ladies park' she seems to be 40+. How can be this drama 30 years old???? If so, arjumand must be 55+ or even 60 years old......does she look sooo old?

What I was saying was that this drama was first filmed more 30+ years ago. This color version of drama is definitely not older than 20 years, I think it aired in late 1990s.

PS: PTV colour transmission started in 1976, so this B&W drama must be at least 35 years old today.

Qurat ul ain probably was the first play of the Aik Mohabat soo Afsany by Ashfaq Ahmad and Banoo Qudsia

For me my two most favorite plays relate to this series one is Qurat ul ain and the other 1 is Cendrella or Sakina
