HI!! I have 3 questions for you. 1st, do you thinkyou can make some more videos for short nails? 2nd everytime i water marble its really runny and bubbly... Why does it do this. And 3rd, what is the best kind of nail plish to use??
@allieirish well, my own are never short so it depends when my mom wears nail art - My 3 tips for bubbles are: make sure there are none in the polish before you dip you nail (pop those), dip in & out slowly, & make sure to get rid of any water drops on your nail - if they won't drip off, you can use the corner of a paper towel to absorb them. there really isn't a best brand, every color is different in the water & it just takes a lot of trial & error to find the ones that work well
today I'm going to try my first water marble. I really like your tutorial for this one. I'm only going to use the marble for 1 nail that's my ring finger on both hands. That's the new trend now and I really don't think it would look good on all my nails. Wish me luck . I get a lot of compliments on my one nail different.
I had a hard time with the nail polish either the outside layer drying to fast or the paint not wanting to spread. Any tips that you could give me that would help either either one or both of those problems?
@mnky82 Are you using room temperature filtered water? Also keep in mind that not all polish works - the brand doesn't really matter but every color is different in the water & it just takes a lot of trial & error to find the ones that work well. You want one with good pigmentation, maybe a little on the thick side but thin enough to drip & above all slow-drying. HTH =)
@mnky82 most tap water is too hard & the polish will not spread as well. You can check out my water comparison under the Tips & Tricks playlist in the information box to see the difference =)
WHY THE H*** HAVEN'T I SEEN YOUR VIDEOS BEFORE !!!!!!????
My goooooood - I just realized that making your nails isn't a million hour learning thing! - THANK YOU !!!! (now i'll just watch pretty much all your videos!) :D <3
I really like how you did these nails, but my problem with the marble technique is it seems like its the most expensive nail polishes that are compatible and work together for the effect. And sooooo being on a budget is painful to buy those expensive polishes :(
@superbeautyonabudget actually, it depends, for me, the cheap ones are drippier and dry slower, which is good for water marbling ( I live in Thailand, stuff is pretty cheap), and the expensive ones are good quality, but sometimes dry too fast.
@bredazo Are you using room temperature filtered water? Also keep in mind that not all polish works - the brand doesn't really matter but every color is different in the water & it just takes a lot of trial & error to find the ones that work well. You want one with good pigmentation, maybe a little on the thick side but thin enough to drip & above all slow-drying. HTH =)
@bredazo I tried it a while back and it did not work. I tried it this weekend and wala it worked. When you poor the filtered water give it several minutes to adjust to the room tempature. Also, not all polishes work, I guess it depends on how it was mixed when the company made it. Try it again!
@amirahamedali Are you using room temperature filtered water? Also keep in mind that not all polish works - the brand doesn't really matter but every color is different in the water & it just takes a lot of trial & error to find the ones that work well. You want one with good pigmentation, maybe a little on the thick side but thin enough to drip & above all slow-drying. HTH =)
@Ashboit it’s not required, but I always recommend a base coat to help it stick to you nail & also a base color because it helps the marble colors be more opaque & vibrant =)
@bffgirl9045 if you have short nails you just get less of the design, so it's very important where you dip your nail - check out my short nails marble with my mom as hand model for some tips =)
@smaley122 Are you using room temperature filtered water? Also keep in mind that not all polish works - the brand doesn't really matter but every color is different in the water & it just takes a lot of trial & error to find the ones that work well. You want one with good pigmentation, maybe a little on the thick side but thin enough to drip & above all slow-drying. HTH =)
your water marbles are really good. when I try to do it, the polish sticks to the toothpick tip. then it also separates when I drag it. is there some trick to keep the polish from doing that?
@cridhe36 I learned it pretty quickly, but I've been doing it for several years now =) the most important thing is finding polish that spreads well &dries slowly =)
@chickenlikingood there are some pics on my blog =) I don’t know when I’ll get to a vid but in the right sidebar there's a drop down for my labels - look under the tag "my stash" & I think it's the 2nd post that will show up
@pink70makeup sorry if it bothers you but they're rarely longer than 15 seconds unless you can skip them & that's what allows me to keep making tutorials =) I probably could not afford this much polish with just my day job
Colette, I just wanted to tell you thank you so much for your videos! I am 24 and I have always bit my nails. I have been putting fake nails on to try to stop, but I get bored with regular plain colors. I love doing the water marbles. I change my nail color everyday almost now. I am confident I can stop biting them now! I have found that a lot of cheap polishes work better than expensive ones.
what do you use to make your design? I find that whatever i use it will break my design or ruin it if that makes sense? I have tried putting more polish in to hopefully thicken it up but it didn't really work...
@nadiamendo I use an orange stick but anything with a fine point will work - It sounds like your polish is starting to dry – you either have to work faster or find colors that dry slower =)
I love this water marble design . I remember the first time I tried doing water marble on my nails my dad said it was a waste of tape when he uses tape to make a fake mustache.
I enjoy watching all you tutorials and I think I got my 6 year old daughter hooked on you.....she try's to do her nails by herself......gives her alittle motivation in the beauty department. I have one question, some of my nail polishes don't spread like the others, what can I do to help spread the polish out.
I love those nails but how much polish dose it take and i tryed this but with diffrent colors and when i got to the second color it just stayed there in the middle. How do you prevent it from happening.
@DerandaRosel Are you using room temperature filtered water? Also keep in mind that not all polish works - the brand doesn't really matter but every color is different in the water & it just takes a lot of trial & error to find the ones that work well. I do occasionally get a tear or break but you can check out my tutorial on silk wrap patching for how I save those nails =) I do "Naked Nails" posts on my blog every month or so where I talk more about like all the specific products I'm currently using.

This is SOOO cool. Ive been watching water marbling forever but didn't have the guts to do it. I just recently did it for the first time and it came out great! Btw - I love your hair! It's so long and it looks really healthy and shiny.

This is SOOO cool. Ive been watching water marbling forever but didn't have the guts to do it. I just recently did it for the first time and it came out great! Btw - I love your hair! It's so long and it looks really healthy and shiny.
