  • As you know, Balazs visited my little corner of Ohio this past spring for a few concerts. He was a very personable guy full of imagination and passion, and I miss him!

    We were killing time one day, so I showed him this video. He liked your playing.

    It is my impression that he is all about rhythm. About the keyboard aspect of the HG, he frequently said "Is nothing!" His estimation of a good player is one who can vary the crank rhythm effectively. I hope you two cross paths someday!

  • Yes it's true, Spain is the first country in Europe who has a Sculpture in the Portal of Glory that depicts the 2 Man "Organistrum" & the Cantingas de Santa Maria shows the Solo box-shaped models.

    The modern Spanish name is "Zanfona" with a Tilda over the 2nd "n" in that word, and it means "Symphony" which is many sounds played together.

    As you can see from the videos here, the Italian "Zampogna"also means Symphony and in this case, it is a Bagpipe.
