  • That's funny. "Don't run" turned into "Go back!" pretty quickly...HAHAHA

  • whoever filmed this is an asshole

  • how do you figure?

  • 1) you shouldn't be that close to the gorillas and 2) that wasn't a charge

  • Thank you for your trenchant commentary, Hipnawtic, you must be an accomplished primatologist.

  • 1. We kept 10 meters from the gorillas, unless they approached us and egress was not readily available. 2. Technically, it was a false charge becuase the silverback turned away at the last instant.

  • We were on an official guided tour led by the Office Rwandais du Tourisme et des Parcs Nationaux. Eight people are allowed one hour in the company of the gorilla group each day, accompanied by rangers and a tracker. Rwanda depends on the funds from ecotourism to prevent the extinction of the gorillas from poaching, conflict, and environmental degredation. Ecotourism in Rwanda also supports a fragile post-genocide economy.

  • Gorillas are more intelligent and sophisticated than Chimpanzees. Although i must say the male Silverback charging is enough to stop your heart beating.

  • LOL

  • John, I'm still laughing at your comment. I can just picture everything going the way you described it.(my eyes are still tearing up)Thanks for a great laugh.

  • This clip had a director??? "OK guys, move the camera all over the place and play with the zoom. Great! Now get some shots of the ground while you run for your life. Cut! Print!"
