Reminds me of a girl I started going out with in 1981. She would never make a commitment- we would reconnect and go out every few years all the way until 1999. Her mom died about 5 years ago and it threw her into a tail spin. I found out 3 years ago that she committed suicide. Steve Perry is an original! We all are. Of course there are influences such as Sam Cook but Steve is the main reason I love Journey. Neal Schon is also important but Steve's solo albums are a testament to how powerful and soulful he is. There is no replacement for Steve Perry. He's irreplaceable. What a great talent.

Arnel Pineda has a wonderful voice and very close to Steve Perry's and I think he is doing great singing the songs, but Steve Perry's voice just touches me sooo deeply. His voice and this music is a large part of my troubled times when I was a teenager. So much passion and so beautiful. Thank you Steve Perry and thank you Journey! @jamesha175 Steve Perry was not replaced during Trail By Fire because he could no longer sing. He was replaced because he developed a degenerative hip disease had to have hip replacement surgery. The two other members of Journey then wanted to tour and weren't prepared to wait for Steve Perry to find the best hip surgeon and recover so they replaced him.
Steve said in the GQ interview that he didn't think when he chose to have surgery was a band decision. He thought it was a personal.

Journey has been through many changes since Steve Perry left. Some good some not so good but the fact remains, they ARE NOT Steve Perry! AP is very good in his own right hopefully he isn't trying to BE Steve Perry that would really be silly. Steve Perry made Journey the success that it remains today. The band Journey is not the same Journey that it was when Steve Perry brought them to where they got. As far as Perry's "pipes", he hasn't lost a thing and by the way, ever read any of his books?

i've search all over interviews from all all JOURNEY MEMBERS and none of them really said that the asian singer is this and that no negative words uttered... greg rollie said he's glad that AP joined the group and continue their journey. same with SP wrote to OPRAH show that he's happy with the group with the new singer.
ONLY HERE YOU WILL SEE SELFISH FANS would not admit that perry could no longer sing because of his pipes inability to sustain certain notes. SP register is no longer good.

@sr71ablackbird i am a big fan of steve perry and i affirm that. i didn't argue with any of you. want to raise the point that steve's pipes would you believe that he could hit the same high note like key of C taking it to the head note as he did in the 80's at his age now 60+? youre kidding me really boy lolz. even steven tyler's unique voice changes over the years. @zero2own 40 yrs back, i was 2 and memorizing street signs. What were you doing when you were 2 yrs old ? How do you NOT know that he can not hit those high notes ? If you d o your musical history, there are some older than him that could hit higher notes than he could and still can.

Arnel Pineda has a wonderful voice and very close to Steve Perry's and I think he is doing great singing the songs, but Steve Perry's voice just touches me sooo deeply. His voice and this music is a large part of my troubled times when I was a teenager. So much passion and so beautiful. Thank you Steve Perry and thank you Journey! I know that there are many others that feel the same.

Today one sounds like another, but then you have people like Steve Perry...and you know, those you can pick out immediately...do I need to name them? Are you all so homogenized? I have been faithful to journey but when steve left just like my dad he took a piece of my heart. Thank goodness for youtube. Thats all I listen to. When I go to sleep at night and when I wake up in the am. Good morning girl gets me going for the day.

One of the greatest voices in R&R history! There are certain voices that CAN'T BE MISTAKEN! Steve Perry, Klaus Meine, Roger Daltrey, Ozzy, Robert Plant. I feel sorry for today's teenagers! Rock and Roll is DEAD!!! Every singer sounds EXACTLY THE SAME!! Great video. I love Steve singing this song.It is beyond me how Neal Schon thinks he can replace Steve Perry with anyone. He found Arnel Pineda on YouTube so I think he needs to also read the comments on all the Steve Perry/Journey videos on YouTube to understand Steve Perry can't ever be replaced for so many Journey fans worldwide.

@jamesha175 Steve Perry was not replaced during Trail By Fire because he could no longer sing. He was replaced because he developed a degenerative hip disease had to have hip replacement surgery. The two other members of Journey then wanted to tour and weren't prepared to wait for Steve Perry to find the best hip surgeon and recover so they replaced him.
Steve said in the GQ interview that he didn't think when he chose to have surgery was a band decision. He thought it was a personal.
