I need to someone help me.Im spanish so Its dificull to me in english but first its a pleasure lisent this song, musician and singer ohhhh so beatifull.Im a singer and im working with two pa mackie 450 american, i need a small pa to my performers I love the sound bose.its reallly a good idea l1 compact i only need one for clubs i play the music on a ketron in wav.Could anyone send me a profesional opinion please?.thanks so much.
@BREIXA11 The L1 COMPACT could work for you in smaller rooms with audience of less then 100 reasonably quiet listeners. You could plug a microphone, your keyboard, and an mp3 player ALL into a Compact without the need for a mixer. The Compact does not deliver the sound as far as a full sized L1, like the ones in this video, but the sound is much the same. I have used the Compact for keyboard players, and it's good for low volume music.
Memphis Jesse playing June 15th Galena Park Terrace, June 18th Meadows Avenue Tap EPeoria benefit for Mike Eisenberg. Nov. 4 Contemporary Art Center Peoria.
Pete, this song is why you played with Chuck Berry that famous night in 1988. If you ever doubt your jump blues credentials, just listen to this a few times. Doubts gone bra!!!
@soulhoosier hey John, this is so weird, I had just watched & listened to this a few minutes ago and had not seen your comment. Thanks for saying so...and I agree, it's nice to have gotten a clip of my shuffle. The good ones usually get away. Glad to hear the Cafe went well and you made some money. Who drummed for you? I look forward to getting to play with you guys again this year, as I'm band-less at the moment.
Played Cafe in Macomb on Dec. 18th. College kids gone for break...still drew 500 door with Jesse on vocals. In some cases you pay to play.....if you wanna get paid.
@aynrandy1 Thanks for the comps Randy, John will appreciate that, he's not even the lead singer! But yes, he has a unique set of pipes. Check out some of the other vids with Jesse singing too.
My thanks to Drooghound(the Anglo/Aussie blues cat) and Sacred Strings from Toledo. Sacred Strings you guys are baaaddd baadd baaaaddd...but in a real good way. Keep on truckin'
He forgot his throne that day...often he'd forget a cord, once he forget the keyboard :) I had a folding Coleman lawn chair that I loaned him...we both new it looked silly, but we got through the gig just fine.
Vhat am I ? Chpped Livah?Ve must return to da studio wit de Longmire Boys to record some blooose wit de gusto. Dem radio stations in P town dug it last time.
Well shoot......that doggoned Fishtail sounds so real, that I'd like to sometime get the same crew to record Taj Mahal's "Leaving Trunk" a real rocking blues stomp.
This song is the best Soul Hoosiers effort yet on youtube. The songs featuring Memphis Jesse seem to have a kind of muddy sound to them. Soul Hoosiers shall ride again...y'all
I'm amazed that the drums didn't cover everything, given the limitations of the camcorder mic. Would have thought the proximity would ruin it for the other instruments, but that's really some great balance and, obviously, a testament to the L1's spread.
No he wasn't, nor was the bass (wish it would have been). Still, all came thru pretty well, yes a testament to the spread of these speaker towers. The cam was actually about 6' outside of the pavillion, and not in a good location for the best mix. I didn't want to put it in the audience though.
Hey Pete! I enjoyed this clip of you and the Soul Hoosiers! It was nice to hear those drums again. especially the acoustic set! I was wondering how the Longmire Boys accepted the fact that you played off to the side and not in the center. Amazing audio from the camcorder... Seems everyone was "cookin'" and it was GREAT song. Hope to hear you live someday with these guys....John
Thanks John, I had the gear all set up by the time the band arrived, and yes, everyone had concerns about the drum position, but understood my reasons and were happy with the sound after a bit of adjusting. I didn't want to make them have to worry about the Vdrums too, so they stayed home. This is not the same acoustic set I brought to No. Carolina, these are the bigger diameter ones. A little louder.

Pete, Elliot Parker, ex of Rooster Alley played drums at the Cafe. He's got a good shuffle, but I think you've got the pocket all over him.

Thanks ss, the Bose L1s are truly amazing, and simple, and lightweight, and have great coverage. The Soul Hoosiers aren't bad either.

Hi there ! Great stuff ! Great drummer. Great piano player - but tell me - does he need to be slouched so low in that picnic chair ?
Looks like he can't be bothered !

Two reasons for that possibly:
1) They are *indoor* recordings
2) "Hands of Time" & "When Something is Wrong" both have multi tracked audio...not camera sound like all the others. It didn't turn out so hot IMO.
We also didn't have that hot guitar player!

Is the guitar player playing through a mic'd amp?
