Don't know the guy or his goats. Is not my place to either condone or condem anyone. Would like to point out for those who are worrying that this is a dairy goat and when healthy they are naturally lean. Like dairy cows. On the buck kid, in his area maybe no one wants them. Animals given away for free often suffer more than being put down quickly.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if we waited until we understood something before passing judgement? Good intentions don't always lead to better actions. Example: pulling on a kid/lamb/foal whatever too soon can cause more pain or tearing than allowing time for the tissues to stretch, especially with first fresheners. Notice the camera was on the ground for moments - not enough time to correct a malposition. In this video, both kids presneted in the normal position of nose and forefeet.

@ZS6JMP look aborting the fetus up to 3 months old can be considered ok.... due to the child's defects ..or if its an unwanted raped child or she conceived the child by her own alcoholic father, there could be many reasons why the lady may not want the child.. but even this.. a time limit can be considered at 3 months. because after 3 months.. the fetus is growing into a tiny baby.. so after three months it can be considered cruelty.

Ive delivered quite a few lambs.. Is it pretty much the same deal with goats as with sheep? Do you sometimes need to lube up + give the mother/babies a hand, massage or swing by the ankles to clear any blocked airways, introduce them to the tits, all that kind of stuff? or do goats like yours usually take care of business on there own?

@mrlowdangle All My kids are bottle raised.. they never see another goat for at least 3 days. it is a little harder in the beginning but it pays off in the long run.

My Saanen doe had 2 kids this June, a buck and a doe.

Both of which she had at night, without my knowledge.

Both kids are doing great, still on the mother's tit!

I think they will be weaned soon, as they are starting to eat grass, pellets, and have licked the goat mineral block from the start.

Why don't you just castrate the bucks?
