No one goes backstage and has dinner and chills with the Idols in their dressing rooms. Maybe a family member, but no fans. Period. The only one who sits by the sound equipment is Jeff Archuleta.

The Idols give out passes to whomever they want. Family/friends for sure. If they see you at lots of shows or you came really far to see them or something draws them to you, sometimes you get a pass. Mods off fan sites often do. David doesn't directly hand out passes, but some of the other Idols do.

the only way to get all access backstage passes is if you know one of the idols. those passes allow you backstage to have dinner w/ them, chill in the dressing rooms, etc and you get your own seats by the sound equipment and security. the meet and greet passes are given out to employees of the arena, friends, and family and if you know one of the idols. or you can win them on some radio stations. thats about it.
