  • what is the tune that neil peart plays on? the only other time i've ever heard it, is the start of "suck on this" by primus

  • They didn't mention Neil? He was like the grandfather of this concert since he did the first memorial CD plus he PLAYED here lol but watever killer concert

  • I've never been to a concert.

  • I think its important to recognize all of these drummer's as master's of their respectable styles. I think people are starting to forget that music is really an impression of one's self, and there people are able to express themselves to a high level in their own styles. From Chad's groove, to Terry's melodic style, to neil's drum chops. I would expect people that dont understand drums, or music in that matter to be hatting, bunch of haters! lol....

  • You sir hit the nail on the head. Beautiful comment.

  • @RiverPlate32 SHITTTTT I ACCIDENTALLY THUMBED DOWNN!!!!

    I MEANT THUMB UPPPPP!

  • I automatically assume I know more than everyone else when i comment on youtube videos.

  • Bozzio is indeed a monster, folks. But as I'm sure Terry would say, music is about expression. Chops are a means to an end. Joey seems to connect with his audience and whether you are a fan or not, that is what it's all about.

  • Good comment Mate. I mean why does everybody have to compare and shit talk everything. I love Metal and Jazz and in many ways they are very similar Because they are honest and expressive. Joey is awesome and so is Bozzio

  • That was a supremely lame comment. Bozzio is ne of the best most innovative ever even w/7 kick drums. He uses all those drums. I've sat down one on one with him as well. Genius.

  • Sorry man, maybe I was a tad too harsh. I jumped to Bozzio's defense, which I needn't have done as his playing speaks for itself. I am indeed a drummer and do visit D channel. I just think Bozzio is way more versatile than those 3. My opinion only and you are most certainly entitled to yours which I respect. My fav is Colaiuta hands down. I just give huge props to players who can do it all. They're in another league all their own. peace.

  • I hope 74jail is joking! Those 3 aren't entitled to be a pimple on Bozzio's ass! You obviously aren't familiar with US Drag, His work with Zappa, or any other of his ground breaking independence stuff. He has the speed of Jordison and then some. Complexity of Peart? That's the funniest comment of them all! The grooves of Chad? You mean those simple little grooves that you learn in Jr high? They are merely "good" players. Bozzio is on an entirely different level. And he can swing! They can't.

  • I've heard Bozzio play yes we all know he's good, have you been on drum channel lately, oh wait your not even a drummer never mind then. Because you would know that Bozzio, Smith, and Peart all contribute to that site and they all have great talent. But Joey doesn't, I never said Joey was good, in fact I think he's shit.

  • A big band version of YYZ! I love it!

  • For all those who are talking bad about Terry Bozzio, I feel he is a good drummer "musically" just because he doesn't have the fast drumming of Joey Jordison, or the complex rudiments of Neil Peart, or the grooves of Chad Smith. He knows how to compose a song using toms that are individually tuned to different notes. Some door knobs out there are going "you can tune toms to notes??" If you watch his impovisations on Drum Channel you will come to find out he is really good. (Chad SMith drum jam)

  • "...just because he doesn't have the fast drumming of Joey Jordison, or the complex rudiments of Neil Peart, or the grooves of Chad Smith."

3 of the most overrated drummers I've seen.

Take Jordisons pedals away and he's lost. Bozzio's drumming can be and is a hell of a lot more complex than Pearts- who, I believe anyway, is very disjointed and an uncomfortable drummer to listen to. And Chad Smith gets hailed for greatness for playing 4/4. It's just because he plays for a popular band.

  • Hey man I'm just comparing, Joey's shit I'll tell you right now, but don't hate on Peart. The dude is good and him and Bozzio are good friends.

  • No doubt he's amazing

  • i believe terry does suck

  • Such a fantastic album, especially Steve Ferrone's playing on 'Pick Up the Pieces' at the end.

  • Well mate while Terry tears it up and shows us all he is not of this world, your in front of the computer holding your knob frustrated why your life is meaningless and you'll never play with anything else but with yourself.

  • I guess thats why zappa hired him when he was a nobody, cause he had a big kit...........OKAY BUDDY.....

  • yeah exactly. thats my point hes not good hes only famous for the kit and therefore you dont have to be good to be famous just have alot of money

  • Naylorade: Terry Bozzio played "the black page" better than anyone else, and he likes to play melodic. He needs tuned drums and Cymbals to express himself, he is a melodic drummer not only riddim. If you wonder how big is his drumset you should see a full classical drum setup then.

  • Let's not forget too, what an innovator Terry has been and continues to be.

  • What are you people smokin? all of you. quit hatin'. All these drummers practice 6-10 hours a day while you comment from behind your lPC. Neil Peart thought this whole thing up. he first recorded many of these guys 20 years ago on Anthem records. His own label. he's not the best, nobody is. Perhaps Buddy was. I met Buddy twice. He was quite an asshole but when everyone is always telling you that you are the greatest then maybe it messes w/your head. Colaiuta, Bozzio, Chambers all bad asses.

  • Uhmm... about the whole "nobody is the best comment..." Buddy was...

Zawinul Out >.> (a bit fcked up but o well)

  • i was there

  • Wish there was some footage

  • Why were they playing YYZ as the background music?

  • Because that is one of the pieces Neil played at the concert. It was a big band arrangement.

  • no it wasnt background music neil was there and played it with a jazz band
