He changes color depending on how fast you beat him. After white is green, then red, then finally black. If you beat a white boo fast enough though he'll immediately turn black.

I think each time you change a walking surface, it slows the velocity down. At the first green Pipe, you could of avoided touching it. What I did was jump on the green pipe, then on the question mark, then on the other question mark at 0:07, then at the top of the red boxes. There was also three other instances where you could of avoided stepping on things ( stair: 0:30 , Pipe: 0:31 ) I think it's not worth spending time on this to become perfect. There are other things in life which one can do.

Thanks for the info. I'm not gonna change the video because that is an issue with the game. Full run through the entire level with no stops or slowdowns is fine with me.

This guy is not telling the truth anyway, I just played the game in slow motion with save states (TAS), doing what he said; not changing walking surfaces unless absolutely necessary, doing perfectly timed jumps and just achieving perfect in any possible way and I got 203, just barely I might add. Nowhere near 204.

In other words, your record is perfect and his 204 never happened because it is impossible.
