@deuce01983 That's Robert Smigel, he is Triumph. Longtime friend and collaborator with Conan O'Brien,. Smigel was the first head writer at Conan's "Late Night," but still showed up to play triumph, and the lips of president Clinton and many others. The voice he does here is some attempt, i think, at a Russian accent. He also used it on Conan while playing the late Saddam Husein.
Smigel was the warped mind behing those great tv funhouse cartoons. That said, I didn't like the bath tub bit.
Yeah, this show was critically just bashed but looking back it was waaay ahead of the curve. Carvey should have gone late night, still should. (Wait. Is he dead or something? Where is he?) Look at the talent on this show. Most of them went on to write or perform for Conan and The Daily Show. He seems pretty unassuming as well. Too many gimmicks. I think they were live initially and they had a single sponsor that carried the show long before the irony of product placement.
ya, and it never aired on TV. I think that goes for episode 6 as well, but im not sure. What a good show this was, and what a shame its gone. I mean, this show was the birth place for ambiguously gay duo, need I say more. ABC is a crappy network.
you're probably right, I just know one or two of the episodes didn't get to air, I remember reading about it when I was a kid. I could have sworn this was one of them, but I'm not positive by any means. Maybe there was an eight episode that I'm thinking of?
The First Ladies As Dogs bit was absolutely brilliant! Guess the handwriting was on the wall, though, since there was no "credit" sponsor this week. Too bad TIIC weren't ready for this show. But time vindicates it!
Ah, hilarious!! Dana Carvey was a god! He was hilarious in "Master of Disguise"! This show was really awesome, it reminds me of a Steven Colbert-style show!
the refs sound like whitey from eight crazy nights...now i know where Adam Sandler ripped it off from.

Steve Carrell laughing in the car has made me laugh everyday since I was 12.

If you listen closely during the "If I only had an ass" song, you can actually hear the sponsors backing out.

Anybody catch a YOUNG Steve Carrel? second guy to bid on JFK's chair.
Joeymackey 2 years ago
And of course, Stephen Colbert as the first guy to bid. Both were writers on this show.

100% agree, I was addicted to this short lived show when it came out. Was bummed to see it go, but so happy to see it return here at Crackle!
