  • Thanks, that lick is fun. Great job on the instruction.

  • Very tasty.. thanks ;)

  • "In the style of".....similiar, but not quite the way Winter does it. Good lesson, but judging from some of the comments, people need to be spoon fed the notes! Ya'd think they be happy getting this shit for free. Listen folks, not only do you have 2 eyes, ya got 2 ears as well. If you can't get this lick down from watching this clip (and listening), fucking hang up your guitar right now! :-)

  • Why not tell these people the notes, so they know what they're playing in a musical context, instead of just knowing where to put their fingers?

  • i have an old interview with j. w. and the interviewer asks: "where do you get your licks from, scales, chords ?" j. w. replies: "i dont know, man i just play!".

  • Thats a really small neck.

  • whos's jonny winter, anyway let me HEAR THE LICKS MAN WOOHOO PLAY FREEBIRD MAN!

  • I can see perfectly what he is doing @ below..Not really sure how these lessons are 'laborious', as you put it, to follow. Would you like him to come to your house and hold your hand too? hahaha... Good lesson!

  • It's really a Freddie King lick

  • He has the neck tilted so you really can't see what he is doing. I wish he would replace this video with one where the neck is straightly aimed at the camera . If the rest of his videos are like this one with the neck tilted up away from the camera, his lessons will be very laborious to follow.

  • cool lesson..stupid camera angle

  • awesome stuff. nice lick and very well explained

  • thank you man

  • What pickups are in your Strat? Sounds amazing.

  • LOVE Johnny Winter!

  • banale

  • wicked dude. super easy lesson and sounds fantastic.

  • this is good stuff. i have stood 5 feet from Johnny Winter at least 3 times, and watched his hands. There is no possible way you could learn this by watching Johnny. he is way, way, way too fast. but, this lesson slows it down, and makes it possible. I mean to tell you. J. Winter is, or was, the fastest man on earth.

  • God, Sir I wish I would have had you for a teacher back in my teens! Thanks for this awesome instruction!

  • Jody is one of the best out there! his lessons have helped me so much! :)

  • Jody ,you rock!

  • Can you give us a few more JW licks like doing A7 D E progression

  • this is prolly one of the most commonly used blues/rock licks, in addition to the same pattern two frets down

  • Thank you!

  • @bluesmanbosco
