LOL Old style Contemporary is what this is. But good to watch. Old style comes from the Ogima Society and the ladies never lifted their feet off the ground and they all stayed in a line. But someday it will come day. Good going though ladies...

There are things done now that I don't remember happening when I was young and I am only 27.I do believe I still have an old style jingle dress that I keep in my closet. It isn't really fancy, it has like a floral design on the material it was made of, but the jingles are tarnished. I have to get some stuff to clean them off but I am not sure what to use yet. I miss the way things were done when I was little but I understand change happens. Good vid!
Don't judge based on how other woman like to dance, that is there style and their grace. If u see old style woman dancers out there jamming out with contemporary dancers, Honor them at least they have pride to show they know some thing about the old ways. Unlike the ones who's too fancy & too good!!!
old jingle was not this fancy, they danced straight forward, not weaving side to side. never lifting their feet off the ground, they slid their feet staying close to mother earth. in ontario, the old women did not stand for this. come watch our elders, they will show you how it was done. don't call this old-style because it's not, maybe in 50 years it'll be. excellent dancin for todays new standards though. the idea is still here!

I think this is the nature of competition dancing, unfortunately. Everyone feeling they must "dress to impress" or will not stand out. It has crept into every style of powwow dance now, even the most traditional. The truly "old style" Jingle dresses would never stand out in today's competitions; they are too plain. Competition dancing, though it may be fun, has done much to destroy everything that is traditional about these dances.
the ladies dont get judge for going backworks doing fancey moves this is oldsytle not contemperry
