How do you feel about this bag as a general EDC bag if I wanted to EDC a dSLR? Is it too large for everyday use? Would an iPad fit in this pretty nicely?
@shuttersandtriggers i've got an asus transformer tablet which fits in the bag ok but it really doesn't come with enough dividers to suport the camera equipment and the tablet you will have to purchase hazard4's extra dividers to get the layout that i would like with my tablet in the bag. I dont have an ipad so i can't say how it will fit.
@shuttersandtriggers as for an EDC bag it's pretty big and bulky. If i need all my lenses and filters i will carry it with me but if i'm just taking the camera and a single lens i will just throw my camera into my maxpedition fatboy versipack. However if you have a lot of gear to tote around this bag should be able to hold it all plus your camera.
@shuttersandtriggers I have a sitka as well. the width of the bag is too small to hold my EOS 60d with the lens on. Its a great EDC bag as long as i dont take my full size camera with me. there is a product i just discovered, havent ordered it yet but i am planning on it that lets you just clip the camera to the strap of your bag. its called the capture camera clip peakdesignltd. com it's going to be my next camera accessory purchase.
Would you know anything about this bag and if it is waterproof or resistant. Planning on bringing it to the rainforest and wondering if i need to maybe get some waterproofing spray
I have another bag similar to this type & every time I start to bend over or move when carrying the bag it slings over & hits me in the head. Have you had any problems with wearing your bag? great vid!
Too much going on with this bag....what happened to simplicity? As a photographer, I cannot do this bag.....good review though. One of the many few who speaks well without using "Umm, and ahhh".....
I can't believe I missed this when you first published it. So other than the color and the webbing, what's particularly "tactical" about this bag? I thought perhaps it might have a hidden firearm compartment, but it sounds like that's not the case.
Great video, lots of detail. I am sure this will create a bit of buzz around this product. I have something very specific I intend to carry but am unsure if it will fit in the pack, would you be kind enough to advise the internal dimensions. It would be greatly appreciated.
@freedoomed Yeah, I emailed them and never got a reply either. That kinda thing makes me think 2ce about committing cash.
I want to fit my iPad in it's bubble sleeve in there. Do you think the pack has stretch in it enough to fit a 9 inch item flat against one side. I would be keeping it in the top section where you camera is. I am going to turn the bottom into a thermal insulated lunch compatment.
@troy5690 No, the pack is only about 7" at its widest on the inside. 9" definitely won't fit. they do make an ipod sleeve with molle webbing on the back. maybe you could attach that to the outside of the bag? You might be better off with a maxpedition kodiak.
@freedoomed Well, no matter how I looked at it, or wanted it, the Hazard 4 wasn't going to suit my needs. But you put me on the path that led me to the Falcon 2. Decision made! Think I even found a nice commercial thermal unit that will fit in the main pocket.
Just and FYI if you need access to the main compartment, just pop it off and wear it with the bag in the front and the strap in back, or just wear it that way all the time (like I do). Also, while you can't access the main compartment when you rotate it (if you wear like you do in the video) you CAN access the smaller from pouch as the zipper is runs around three sides of the pocket. You just drag the zippers to the other side. GREAT REVIEW
Damn sweet bag! Darkchilds review was great i knew someone was going to get the bag. Great review yourself too man!! Looking forward to your dream knife tag video man. And i cool man, nice to see a face to match the voice with. Take care brotha!
Wow the Photo Recon is a nice bag! I didn't realize this bag doesn't have a hydration pouch. Kind of sucks that you can't access sides from both sides. But that's cool that you worked around it. Thanks for the review:) I was very curious about this pack also. I wish mine came with more dividers, at least you got 4 I only got 1.
@darkchild57 The few shortcomings can really be made up with a few accessories. I don't really use a hydration pocket on any of my other bags but i am going to get a molle bottle holder to throw my 32oz nalgene into. the addition of a large dump pouch will make this awesome for bringing to conventions as well. if i ever need more padded room on the bag hazard 4 also has a small camera case.

@freedoomed Before I came across the Hazard bags, I was looking at the Maxped Sitka. Any experience with that one?

@skunkapemilitia The fabric is cordura which is water resistant but the bag is by no means waterproof. The zippers would allow water in for sure.

@WatchTalkForums There's a picture of a gun velcroed into one of the pockets on the website. i think that makes it tactical

@troy5690 hazard 4 doesn't seem to list the internal dimensions on their website, just the external
EXTERNAL DIMS_~52 x 18 x 21cm (20.5 x 7.1 x 8.25”)
Thank you so much and i hope you find what you are looking for!

@freedoomed Thanks, I will go check the Kodiak out. Does Hazard for make the iPad molle pouch you referred to?

@troy5690 Yes, the ipad molle pouch i mentioned is made by hazard4. I'll PM you a link to it on their site.

Is there any way you could use this on the front of you if having a larger backback on your back ?
blank10123 8 months ago
@blank10123 the strap may get in the way when you try to put the backpack on. other than that i don't see why not.
