Oh god, I've done so many laps at this track... I tried a fast lap in this car, and I was running absolutely PERFECT, until I spun at the Karrusel, and you know how that car takes like a minute to turn around. Most fun is doing it with a Yamaha TZ250 in Tourist Trophy. BRRRRIIING-DING-DING-DING!

Bernd Rosemeyer took an Auto Union streamliner to over 270mph in january 28'th 1938 at the german autobahn between Frankfurt and Darmstadt. He was trying to beat the record by Rudolf Caracciola who did 268mph with the Mercedes streamliner.

Rosemeyer lost control,was thrown out of the car and died at the return run.

Nobody has gone faster on a public road even TODAY.

This was done in 1938....

need for speed is way more realistic because all the cars dont sound the same like on gt4 it sounds the same on some cars

The GT4 Auto Union C's V16 sounds nothing like the real thing, shame. I was hoping we'd get the open wheeler instead, this car is better suited for top speed runs. Maybe in GT5 we'll have a whole bunch of pre-war Mercs, Auto Unions and Alfas.

GT4's sounds always sucked.

The new GT5 Prologue seems to sound just great, at least the trailer did.

The Audi R8 sounded like it has a real crossplane V8 and the F430 like a real flatplane V8...

I have a feeling GT5 is going to SICK. Cockpit views, life-like graphics, realistic sounds and a more sim than sim-cadey physics engine.

GT HD is a lot of fun the PS3, the cars actually oversteer this time. The traction circle is more realistic: no longer can you apply full braking late into a corner and expect to survive it. Apply the the throttle too soon and you'll probably spin. Check it out dude if you haven't already.

BTW, check my profile for a similar lap to this one that I did.

Cockpit view, online multiplayer, near-photorealistic graphics, etc will definately give it an edge above GT5.

Hell yes. The 1937 Mercedes W125 with its supercharged straight 8 with 646 hp

then there was the Mercedes DAB engine which made 730hp for the streamliner in 1937...
