@djfxw "Edgefest 1982" haha. All you Edgewood people are spoiled rich kids, that's not any news if you're from the Madtown. Maybe he was a dick/asshole in high school, but that was high school haha. Go fix yourself a glass of milk and try to let go of this grudge you've had for the last 25 years. From class president and prom king (haha!) to working the drive-thru at Culvers. Way to screw half the chicks in your entire school...now fix me a strawberry milkshake asshole. Madison luvs Farley.
@djfxw While there are writers the shows actors also get to produce content, they take part in the pitching process (they can pitch skits) and they help with the writing, in fact some of the writers later went on to be starring members... Also, comedians from Sam Kinison to Rodney Dangerfield have had lines written for them by other comedians or writers to say on stage or elsewhere, so just because he has support doesn't mean he lacks talent even if you don't find him funny (which is okay)...
@djfxw He may have had writers on SNL, but if you tell me that you could stick nicholas cage in there with the same lines and it would be just as funny.... Chris Farley is an extremely funny person. end of discussion
wow people are really arguing about how he was wasn't funny on his own or blah blah blah..he is funny ..it doesn't matter where it comes from..it takes s a special kind of person to transform someones ideas into comedy..and if that is in fact true he took 100% of someones ideas..i'm glad it was him because nobody else could of made me laugh that fucking hard in my lifetime :D
@comicundercover and in the end isnt all that matters dont bother with these people maybe he was an asshole in high school hell werent we all at one point or another no one was a saint in their high school days but hey he made me laugh my ass off plenty of times and thats all that matters so sir thank for putting this up
@Secondlifecreator HI. First learn how to write in correct English. Then, it might be good if you gave some examples of just what you are talking about. Just sayin'
His laugh is hysterical! In fact, if you have scene as much skits, movies, and interviews with chris farley as I have you never get sick of that laugh! Not only that but he was a great man, and one in which all current actors and comedians should emulate!
Life is a tragic comedy. Chris was life personified - drugs merely amplified the comic genius he was gifted with, and sadly he probably never knew we loved him without the drugs.
Chris was a legend. He was such a humble guy, even childlike which is awesome. Yes he had his demons and insecurities that he was never able to overcome but mark my words there will never be another like him. Ever. See you on the other side someday buddy, we can hang out in your van down by the river
Whenever he nervously answered a question with just a "yeah" the audience laughed but he wasn't even trying to be funny, I'm guessing that didn't help with his insecurity problems. Rest in peace Chris, the comedy world can never replace you.
Anyone who reads the book The Chris Farley Show knows this djfxw is just a sour grape/troll. Chris Farley MADE SURE his fellow performer made their mark/hit their punchline. That said a lot about his character. God bless his soul. I love this interview, he seems to bring out the best out of others.
@djfxw dude, you're a jackass, i dont know if you're aware of this, but most people are hardly the same as they were in high school, ive learned from my own experiences after graduating people grow out of those ways, so if what you say is true it seems Chris wasnt the way you described later in his life because he had many people who loved and cared for him...the way you talk makes it sound as if you live in the past of high school days, and you sound like a douche speaking so highly of yourself
He told Jay Leno he couldn't come up with any real comedy himself. The video is posted on youtube. But he did physical comedy quite well, and the proof is here. He didn't handle success very well, but he did succeed. Big.
To me, you sound envious. Bitter, even. Did he do something to you?
@djfxw you sound like a major douche. Even if everything your saying is true and you screwed half the chicks in your school doesn't make you any less of a douche... in fact girls tend to like douche bags (especially the slutty ones) so it just confirms my suspicions.
i miss chris so much! he was such a funny guy,, it's so sad now that Chris died RIP man. Me and all of your fans miss you very much! We love you Chris! :-)
I bet up in Heaven your making all the angels laughing up there man. RIP
@djfxw yeah well maybe he was and maybe he wasnt, but he made laugh. and you dont have to put the guy down, thats low man. especially when he isnt even alive.... what did you ever do that affected millions of people? what did you ever do that was so important, including legendary? and why did you even watch it? hahah you are pathetic my friend
@djfxw you were probably just a loser that resents all of the popular kids for being funny and likable , there were a decent amount of funny kids at my high school that almost everyone liked except for the outcasts who would just sit around and talk about how much they hated everyone else
@Kcunningham17 lol, you have it backward my friend. Farley was the fat loser that people didnt like. he was a prep and was on the football team and he had his mommy and daddy pay for everything. He went to improv school on mommy and daddys money and he was rejected and boo'd at comedy clubs. Like I said before, he was hired for being FAT and of course the family money helped him to get on SNL. So, unless you were there dickhead, dont assume you know the truth.
@djfxw You might be a fat phuck, but it wouldn't make me like you. Farley used his looks as a performer like any performer does. You work with what you have. Phil Hartman used his voice and posture. Belushi his eyebrows. When Brando was young he used his looks one way, when he was older, he used his looks other ways. Farley's families money didn't make me laugh, he did. You, on the other hand, appear a small minded annoyance that is contributing no value to your surroundings...
@djfxw First off I'm pretty SNL doesn't search for random fat guys with money if that were the case anyone could be on the show. Like I said before you were just a social reject that despised kids that were funny and outgoing because you were probably awkward and anti-social. It's simple psychology, and that fact that you said he was a jock/prep proves my case even more.
@Kcunningham17 Oh my! On the contrary my good man. I was the class president and prom king. I screwed half the chicks in the entire school! Just proves my point you are an idiot that assumes too much and just cant conceive reality. Now, go off and fix your single wide trailer and get more booze to feed your alcohol problem.
Man, there is nothing i wanted to see more in my life than this great great man Chris Farley to do a film with Jack Black, there such big balls of energy and are both crazy, i thought they would work great together. Like as brothers or something, they could have done there own version of Step Brothers, only those two could make it better than the original with Will and John.
Some of the crazy stunts this guy does actually requires a lot of practise, like his cartwheels. I mean, if he had the energy to learn that, why the hell didn't he lose the weight? I can't help but wonder if he intentionally stayed fat, as if he thought he would lose his comedic appeal if he was a regular guy.
@noawear No one. I was waiting for you to kill yourself, however. Its assholes like you that drove a REAL genius like him to the end. You need to die.
@comicundercover - I totally agree with you...you can see his respect for david letterman...like when chris interviewed paul mccartney...I doubt that was ANY acting on chris' part...he literally looked like he coulda peed his pants...
i believe that chris did some type of drug before interviews to get over the terrible nerves he had. At heart he was a really shy person, and you can see that from his earlier interviews
hey friend. I really enjoyed this video even though the quality could of been better. THANK YOU!
"I'm not making you watch this video!" I thought I would point out you ARE making people watch this video by having the only copy on the internet. LOL.
I like how they "I can't turn you loose" Mr. Farley was a very big fan of John Belushi, God bless him, and I think that made Chris feel special. I'm glad.
I wish there was more footage of him out there. I feel like there just isn't enough. He is VERY athletic for his size. We should start a peitition for the studio to release the original version of Shrek, starring Chris Farley.
Chris was a genius! I am reading the book The Chris Farley Show, and I didn't realize how he suffered with alcohol and drugs. Read this book if you loved this man...he was a giant of a comedian!
Suffered? People who cant eat or drink suffer. They have no choice.
Chris was just a alcoholic drug addict. Which unfortunately happens to most of the best comics as they act funny to hide their depression, then take drugs to numb the pain.
He is still a great guy, just sad to see drugs ruin his life.
@MagnuSSungaM that makes no sense. He suffered from depression according to you and the last time I checked alcoholism and daddiction is a disease and a bad one at that. So your point is a joke..people who cant eat or drink are the only people who suffer?some moronic logic you got there buddy lmfao
You can see the difference between Jay Leno and Letterman just by watching chris on both shows..Jay had to force laughter when he had the funniest man alive on his show killing it. and letterman just gave it up and laughed the whole interview both times chris was on. He had respect for his humility and his pure comic genius. I dont see how Leno is in the comedy business and doesnt get funny..pretty sad how rich he has got off his lame ass show. long live the legend that was Chris Farley
@CindyVision Well you must be an idiot, interrupting him with such attention seeking questions like "What's your father's name?" and "How was growing up in Wisconsin?"
Yeah Dave was really looking for attention, it's called a conversation, ever have one?
OMG imagine a movie with Jack Black and Chris Farely... were they were brothers... but not just any brothers they were special ed... it would rock the world... but cocaine had to fuck up my idea... so thnxs jackass
@kylielovesconan He was funny because he was funny, it had nothing to do with drugs. Yeah he took drugs, like who the fuck doesn't take drugs these days! But Chris Farley was funny period. He didn't need drugs to be funny. It was his acting that was amazing. Chris Farley is the King of Comedy.
@kylielovesconan sorry but thats ridiculous. i have seen lots of people on drugs and it has never made them funny... your either funny or your not, he was a hilarious person and always very physically amusing but that was his talent regardless of drugs.
When he started pounding his chest, he was imitating his character in Bill Swerkski's Super Fans from SNL...Also, isnt that Doc Severinsen in the blazing orange? He was the band leader of The Tonight Show for over 20 years.
of course he´s no t in cocaine he said he drinked 25 coffes per day, but if he is in cocaine what does it matter? fuckin mothe fuckin idiots who only pay attention to those stupid pussy ass gossip.I hate all of the people here taht the only thing that occurs to them wathing this beauty is talk about if Chris is or not in drugs. He is stil a genius, on ciocaine or not,
Man I wonder where Chris would be now

I wish there was more footage of him out there. I feel like there just isn't enough. He is VERY athletic for his size. We should start a peitition for the studio to release the original version of Shrek, starring Chris Farley.

Chris was a genius! I am reading the book The Chris Farley Show, and I didn't realize how he suffered with alcohol and drugs. Read this book if you loved this man...he was a giant of a comedian!
Croonerrich 1 year ago
@Croonerrich
Suffered? People who cant eat or drink suffer. They have no choice.
Chris was just a alcoholic drug addict. Which unfortunately happens to most of the best comics as they act funny to hide their depression, then take drugs to numb the pain.
He is still a great guy, just sad to see drugs ruin his life.
MagnuSSungaM 1 year ago
@MagnuSSungaM that makes no sense. He suffered from depression according to you and the last time I checked alcoholism and daddiction is a disease and a bad one at that. So your point is a joke..people who cant eat or drink are the only people who suffer?some moronic logic you got there buddy lmfao

Insanity. Greatness.

You can see the difference between Jay Leno and Letterman just by watching chris on both shows..Jay had to force laughter when he had the funniest man alive on his show killing it. and letterman just gave it up and laughed the whole interview both times chris was on. He had respect for his humility and his pure comic genius. I dont see how Leno is in the comedy business and doesnt get funny..pretty sad how rich he has got off his lame ass show. long live the legend that was Chris Farley
stankupdaplace 1 year ago
@stankupdaplace I actually thought the opposite. Letterman keeps interrupting Chris and focusing the attention on himself.
CindyVision 1 year ago
@CindyVision Well you must be an idiot, interrupting him with such attention seeking questions like "What's your father's name?" and "How was growing up in Wisconsin?"
Yeah Dave was really looking for attention, it's called a conversation, ever have one?
WayneJetski69 1 year ago
@WayneJetski69 I guess you're one of Letterman's many mistresses. Too close to home.

yeah its pretty sad that the only reason why he was really funny was because he was on drugs
kylielovesconan 1 year ago
@kylielovesconan He was funny because he was funny, it had nothing to do with drugs. Yeah he took drugs, like who the fuck doesn't take drugs these days! But Chris Farley was funny period. He didn't need drugs to be funny. It was his acting that was amazing. Chris Farley is the King of Comedy.

@Jimbomb13
I agree completely! And all this "was he high or not" debate, is pointless!! Who cares!! He was brilliant!!
candisuxxgood 1 year ago
@kylielovesconan sorry but thats ridiculous. i have seen lots of people on drugs and it has never made them funny... your either funny or your not, he was a hilarious person and always very physically amusing but that was his talent regardless of drugs.

When he started pounding his chest, he was imitating his character in Bill Swerkski's Super Fans from SNL...Also, isnt that Doc Severinsen in the blazing orange? He was the band leader of The Tonight Show for over 20 years.
