  • just gets better and better!

  • It looks really good, but you might want to use the soft particle technique for your smoke effects. it's a bit distracting when you get a sharp edge when the particles intersect the geometry. other than that: awesome

  • @TheLogicalError Thanks for the constructive feedback. I've spent ages trying to get the smoke and particle effects to work in the games physics environment. Do you have any on-line pointers to soft particle effects?

  • @duckocide With soft particles you determine the distance of your particle texel to the zbuffer and use that to fade out the texels of your particles that are closer to the solid parts of your scene, that avoids the sharp edge. Google for soft particles, there are several papers & blog posts on the topic. You could also consider rotating your particles to fake vortices in your smoke. Keep up the good work!

  • Amazing as always Duckocide, you're going to kill at DBP. :D

*inserts obnoxious feature request* (for selfish reasons, as I'm sure I'll be playing this w/ my gf Skunkie)... Could you make the color-based puzzles (like the circuit boards) use symbols/shapes too? A good chunk of the population has some form of color blindness, and in Skunkie's case it's purely black-and-white... so these kind of puzzles can be extremely frustrating and even make a game unplayable. Something to consider. :)

  • @PolyVector Hey, good to hear from you. Well your in luck as I thought the same ages ago and have tried to make sure visual puzzles have more than 1 recognition mechanism. The components are indeed labelled to help. If you look close ... The blue dotted chips codes start "B", the red ons "R" and the green ones "G". Alas the youtube munger has eaten the detail a bit. I'll make a note to make the codes a bit bigger!

  • @duckocide That's cool, I thought I saw some labels but wasn't completely sure. Anyways, I can't wait for this to come out, it will really raise the bar for XBLIG. Keep up the great work! :)

  • Hey, great job!

I am developing my game to DBP too, but if you want any help, just ask me! I REALLY would want to work with another person, just to see what it is like(make an Engine alone is, kind of, ALONNEEE :( ) .....

    Hehe, really good job!

  • @weaponxlar You know what. If I get somewhere with DBP, I'll may need some help to get the game finished. Appreciate the offer - Let's see what happens.

  • As always, Its looking awesome!

I wish you luck with Dream Build Play :)

  • @adem44a I'll need it. Not sure just how complete I can make this game for the competition.
