Any kind of Cat, be it house cat or large likes to just suckle or chew after they've finished eating like that. It's a comfort thing. So it wasn't trying to eat her arm, it was just looking for something to latch onto. It's kind of like a human baby and a binky.
All you people asking where you can get a cub because they are *so cute*..do you actually understand creatures like these should NOT be pets...they are meant to be FREE. Also, please understand, for every person that sells *exotic pets* like this through *breeders* there are a 1000 that wind up on the market because poachers kill their mothers and take the babies so people like you can have a *cute* pet.
I find it very interesting Chastrie that you only mention that the cat should be "free" and that we're horrible people and completely fail to mention more reasonable arguments like these are extremely dangerous creatures. No bias from Chastrie no sir!
I didn't mention the *dangerous* because, don't humans only regard something as dangerous when it hurts us,regardless of what we do to other living things? I said they should be free, because they should be,not *pets*, they are wild animals afterall. I applaud people who care for the wounded and the orphaned, being a wildlife carer myself, I know it is a long, damanding and sometimes, painful journey.
And Blaze, your comment was totally uncalled for, maybe give it some thought before you type.
Thing is, there are fewer and fewer places for them to go. Lions are extinct from many areas in Africa where they once lived, also lions lived all the way from South Africa to India and Eastern Europe. Same thing is happening to the tiger now. Only one species have protected space while others are near extinction. It's not as easy as to just release all animals - we need to provide space for them, and in most cases that means captivity for the time being.
yes, I absolutely agree, but I do not think u can pass such harsh judgements on people until u know the circumstances. For all we know the lion cub in the video is at a reserve BECAUSE it was orphaned in the 1st place.
But I agree with u that some ppl are just ridiculously selfish & ignorant of the fact that animals do not live just as playtoys for humans. So many ppl email me about my lion vids saying things like "aw, where can I get one?" I had to keep reminding them that they are not pets!

Why are these cubs not with their mother?
What benefit is it to the cub to be fondled by humans?
What is their fate?
An agonising death by inexperienced hunters who the lion sees as friends now that they're used to humans?
A life in a small cage or performing in a circus?
Beware of the "CON" in Conservation!
