Your argument isn't really valid. A stock Supra clutch would also be unable to handle that run.

MustangMarck - a clutch will not give you horsepower gains. It will only allow you to put the power from the engine to the wheels better.

Yes they will hold high horsepower. That car would most likely be running skywards of 1000hp. So no the stock clutch will not hold up for a few runs at full throttle in high gears. It will slip easily and burn out. Especially with hard shifting like that.

You speak as if you know the car personally.

In the 'Tags' it refers to it as a 6 spd, indicating stock 'box. The gear ratio isn't that close in a GETRAG.

At 40lbs of boost if they can only manage 800 from a 2j that's pretty pathetic. When you run 40psi you upgrade many aspects of the internals etc In a 2J with few mods you can expect upto 700 hp from 30psi, sometimes even under that boost. Trust me it's way over 800.

Time relies on the driver and his shifting.They were not spectacular here.

Um.... you're gonna need more than just the clutch, as the flywheel, and if you're talking high horsepower runs you're gonna need a better driveshaft over stock, unless you want to hear it shatter after you've made a few passes. I for one always find that to be an interesting noise to hear.... from the stands of course ;-D

Search Ryan Woon and you will get a lot about his supra, which has the Supra 6spd GETRAG and over 1400hp
