this is foremost the most simplest tactic for him. when our guild first started kara we took a few days learning this fight and the advantages of the debuffs. so yeah, very fun but relatively easy fight. just get out of range during banish phase, make sure people move out of void zones asap and rotate portals. hardest part of this fight is just looking for where the portals are going to spawn

I would also like to add something about the blue beam. If you have warlocks, put them in the blue beam because they can drain tank it (spam drain life) and since their dmg done is increased they cause more dmg and gain more health per tick so the healers don't have to focus on the blue beamer as much if it's a warlock. So first and foremost, put a warlock in the blue beam.

One thing that wasn't mentioned, however, is that putting rogues in the green beam is probably the best thing you can do. They don't have mana, and the green beam reduces the energy cost of abilities as well. That means 20 energy Sinister Strikes near the end. (Remember to Vanish once Netherspite Banishes himself, to clear threat.)

oh, and once the red beam is up, have everyone go apeshit on the boss. no one's gonna pull aggro unless the cross the red beam.

2 warrior tanks work the best with the red/green beam switching.

as for the blue beam, we just have the two highest DPS raid members soak it up per phase. have 2 of your 3 healers focus on the DPSer in the blue beam. have the remaining 1 healer raid heal.

also, be careful not to position the boss right smack in the middle of the room.

We usually have a dps(rogue) pick up the green beam since I'm a pally tank and the second tank is usually a warrior so he'll take the green beam as well, you may want to mention this so the pally tank in the green beam doesn't freak cause they're out of mana with an already low mana pool.

i also like to mention an affliction warlock can take the blue beam, just cast your immediate dots, make sure you cast siphon life, then life drain the hell out of him, since your dps will go up, so will the health generation of your life drain, and make sure you move out of the black portal things that spawn from beneath you.

Haha if you are running inside the red beam, the aggro will be switched to you. not very effective having a rogue tanking this now is it? and if you are standing further away then the tank he will move across the room and tank you which will make the portals follow him. This means that the people tanking em will lose the aggro from them and woila hes buffed. especially rogues,sigh. shall not move into the red beam. If your guild isn't using rogues as tanks if that is. but that just sound stupid.

We found that it worked well to leave our tank that would be picking up the red portal next phase and a healer with him so that he could hop right into the spot where hte red portal was. and it doesnt sound nearly as suicidal when you remember that the breathes hit a random target.

Good video, and also good tactic for a bit unexperienced players to move away from him during banish phase. I'm main tanking as a bear with a warrior, and we do banish phase like this: everyone gets close to him and stand around in a circle, and then you have to step away from the target if you're not the target. Although, if your healers can handle the dmg output in banish phase, I would say it's better to nuke him there too. But this seems to be a "safe and slow way". :)

When tanking Netherspite, you run out and let him get 5 stacks of his debuff. This reduces only 5% of the damage he takes, while you still keep aggro.

You then walk back into the beam before you gain nether exhaustion, and tank him just long enough to remove his stacked buff.

Rinse, repeat. You will end up with around 15-20 stacks of the red beam debuff - if you have 15k health to begin with, you will now have >25k health and despite tanking him all by yourself, while not require a single heal.

Very nice, we downed him all of 12 hours ago, and we down him usually by the third banish, he is NOT a hard fight, just dont allow idiots in your raid.

We do this with two healers(well we do all of kara with two ) so our healers take the green beam for 5 stacks then dps/rogue or non mana based dps take over, helps with the heals. oh and in the banish phase, just dps him, melee run around in the middle of him in a circle, rogues COS and its GG.

See, I was the shadow priest of the raid, and they wanted me to stand in the blue ray every odd phase to use imp Vampiric Embrace to heal myself while I do more damage; we thought it would be more effective than putting a mage or lock in there.

Something hit me a couple times for like 60% damage a tick. Is this normal? Do I need spam heals for this?

Took us a couple tries to get it just right, but our guild was able to do it. Healers gotta watch out for the Aura. slap a renew or something on u and everyone. You can't pull aggro from the tank so u dont gotta worry.

Yes, but he has to move sideways in and out of the beam so the debuffs don't stack too high. Try to balance debuffs and health. You want to be at about your normal health at the end of the phase, giving Netherspite as few debuffs as possible.

staying in the blue beam is easy for a warlock. get in the thing (my guild has me go in first time) i throw all my dots and then start drain life spaming. i never let the channel stop so before it ends i hit it again. not hard to do.

Our group has a warlock or Shadow Priest take the portal for the entire phase. Splitting it among two people was easier as a new group starting out, but having just the one person each phase maximizes our damage now that we know the fight better.

They can, but near the end of the portal phase, two ticks of the shadow damaging aura will very easily kill the blue beam holder. If your healers aren't the best crayons in the box, then I would advise against it (as the stack reduces healing taken as well). It will require 100% focused healing from 1 healer, not watching anyone else, at least. Sometimes two is needed, but topping everyone off before Netherbreaths is a must, as well.
