@EvvyThomas :-) Yes I saw that monster... Totally insane. This plane is really well built and can handle all of the mods the guys are doing to it. I've got a carbon fiber wing tube on order because the stock tube just bends from normal use with the extra juice. I've just completed mounting provisions for 2 - D11-P rocket engines. it'll only give it an additional ~8lb thrust for 1.5 seconds, but we'll see if I can get a follow up video with the results.

@EvvyThomas Did the Rockets today. Two runs. The first time I was too far out in the turn to really even know if they both lit. "they did." Not a big effect at all. The second time was pretty cool. They ignited right over mid runway on a high speed pass and you could see the flames and sound. Just a cool factor. No big turbo boost. I forgot the memory card for the camera today, but next time!

'Couldn't immagine what to put on the 70"... I'm going shopping for bigger rockets.

@EvvyThomas The rockets are fired in parallel. I soldered on the leads to the Estes igniters with a portable butane solder iron, for field use. They are triggered from a micro servo pushing the lever of a 15 Amp cherry/rocker switch. They are being fed by a separate, small, 1000mAh, 6 cell NiMH. Safety is a huge factor and the whole setup had me nervous. Experience+Confidence is a bit better for some bigger engines.

@pgluckydog Sounds pretty cool.. Yeah theres been this group of guys somewhere in Cali that put YS 110's into 46 size mustangs and just tear up the air together, sometimes 10 at a time! I'd love to put a YS 140 into the Sport if I could afford it!

@pgluckydog Oh, and I've had two of them, nothing bigger that a .91 magnum 2 stroke in them though. Fast enough for me! But yes, a very sturdy and well built plane. I'm looking at the 70" sport version lately... Not sure what I'd put in it.

I may buy a Saito 115 in a couple days. This is very timely. I also read your comments on RCU. I need either a 100, 115, or 125. Sounds like the 115 is a great choice for my Extra.

What is your total dry weight?

I have no pump experience. Should I also plan on a VP20 or VP30?

Eric,

Thanks! It weighs 7.4 lbs, ready for flight, less a full tank of nitro. Any Saito would a good choice. The VP20 is an involved set up but worth it. It's my first pump so I can't comment on the VP30. If you need anything else ask or PM me and I can try my best to help.
