@cbowhr oh well how do you be the admin in the server? because ive entered the server, i couldn't put anything in the console, like sv_cheats 1 and stuff, and i tried setting an RCon password and entering it but when i typed something it says couldnt connect to console or whatever. i changed the game file "admin" to be my steam ID and my name and all the flags but it still doesnt work. can you help me?

Hi. I would like to create a lan TF2 dedicated server. I see most of the "how-to's" videos are based on hldsupdatetool, but I downloaded Source Multiplayer Dedicated Server from Steam tools. The thing is I can easily start a server, but even if I chceck the VAC protection enable it stays disabled after server starts. And everyone who join can't access their loadout (their steam ID isn't verified correctly e.g. [A:0:0]). Could you help me with this, please?

The Server from the steam tools is pretty crappy....

i would advise you to use source deticated server :)

ok well i have fixed that but now i dont understand how i connect to my own server???, and when i type in the default gateway and it comes up as a website saying huwai or something like that and i see nothing about the application games, and how to add a game

@TheBranty952010 well sorry my internet provider has changed so my internet was gone for a while. When you want to open ports typ ipconfig in your cmd. then you'll have to typ in your browser your deafualt gateway.

Password is usually user: admin pw: admin or administrator. When it isn't that ask your provider for it. The scoutzknivez is missing because you don't have that map so change it into de_dust2 or something

I dont have the folder "the orange box" I tryed restarting the Install Update but it isnt there: All i have is: -ClientRegistry.blob -HldsUpdateTool.exe -HldsUpdateTool_44.mst -Hldsupdatetool_readme.txt -InstallUpdate (the Shortcut i made) -INSTALL.LOG -UNWISE.EXE Please help me! @cbowhr I did you see i wrote -InstallUpdate (the Shortcut i made) and did everything you did untill the part there i needed to enter the Orange Box folder  ;(

Since i am using disk D: is it possible for the file to bi in another folder?

AND i changed the Information in the Shortcut as you showed

+ I am using the one for TF2 if that makes any difference...

@iani103 well when you created the shortcut with the TF2 install line then let the install update run (30min-1hour) and after when its 100% you'll see the orangebox folder you can always add me on msn dark_blade44@hotmail.com
