I can't understand why so many consider this Indy film the weakest of the franchise. I personally think Temple of Doom is better than Raiders of the Lost Arc, the Last Crusade is my favourite and Kingdom of the Crystal skull I pretend didn't exist.
Great thing about the movie was the opening and Short round as I remember watching this film as a kid, I could pretend I was Short round who was on an adventure with Indiana Jones.
"So a-been ass to review ze öthé two Indiana Joes films"??? Uhm... interesting. Yes, I could figure out you were trying to say "So I've been asked to review the other two Indiana Jones films", and I don't mind accents. It's just that you pronnounce your words lazy and sloppy.
this is the first indy movie. Raiders is an adventure movie with Indy in the plot. But temple of doom is the succesfully introduction of Indy into a saga Mode. In fact is the first time you saw the title presentation "indiana jones and" lalala. If this movie werent worked out you will never be able to see last crusade because it probably will not get money to be made. So show a little respect to the first doctor Jones movie;-) By the way the istrionic winnie was a timeless complement to the hero
I always loved Indiana Jones movies - entertainment to watch. OK, I was disappointing (a little bit) with 2 things - Marion (Karen Allen) was absent here and that Chinese kid looked more clever/brave than Indiana. They overtried with this one.
Anyway it was classic of all Adventure movies. Harrison Ford, Kate Capshaw and Jonathan Ke Quan were brilliant.
I watched this film when I was 5 for the first time , now im 13. In that space of time I watched it about 12 times [no joke] This is a fantastic film . the last crusade is my least favourite. Now the raiders of the lost ark and the temple of doom are my fav but this film always beats it. I felt I was the only indy fan in the world. until 7 years later the crystal skull came out. Tickets ... BOUGHT. The money went that fast from my dads pocket :PP
My dad and I laughed about it because, you know that old man who welcomed them, he wasn't an indian, he was a srilankan lol. My dad and i hated it cuz the feast was really sick. the royal people don't eat eyeballs, monkey brains, beetles, you name it. the eyeballs are random, most thai people eat the monkey brains, some poor indians eat beetles, blablabla. it's just wrong.
I know, in fact me and my brother watched it for the first time on TV after watching the first movie. The whole Pankot Palace with the feast was very boring. I looked at it and said well the beginning was good... Then as soon as Indy is about to get assassinated by the Thuggee Guard I was thinking, yeah it's getting good
The reason I like this movie is because I first saw it when I was 7 at the theaters with my parents, unfortunately I never got to see the rest of the movie until it came out on VHS because I left the theater with my parents because they were upset when they watched the "controversial" FLAMING HEART scene which put a sour note on the evening. That's why it'll always be the MOVIE that brings back so many memories.
Thanks for posting this recap. I remember not liking this movie as a kid, but I don't remember why. I'm wondering if it's worth a second look.

Yeh why do people say this film is stupid? All 3, the original 3 are great, though number 2 isn't as great as one its still a fantastic movie.

finally a positive review of this film!
i am sick to death of people attacking this film when it's a damn good movie it's far better than the slow going 3rd film in my opinion.

His name isn't "Shorty", stupid.

Short Round - Shorty, what's the difference? Indy calls him shorty, so I will too, stupid.
