  • LAWD! This is from her first album, way back when. Some of those notes ... an ordinary singer would have stopped singing this with age. Extraordinary artists tend to grow with the years. R.I.P. P.S.

  • it's so true, this song, and nobody else can sing it like her, i too listened to it over and over back in the '70's that and 'It's love that makes a woman' I wish they had that one on Youtube!

  • What is profound about her is that in the face of fame and fortune she gave up much of it to care for her severely disabled child. This is a choice that others would have pushed off to an institution or hired help to pursue their dreams. I will miss her unique, compelling voice.

  • it was with shock and saddness that I heard of Phoebe Snow's death. I just loved her music. She was a dedicated mum with a heart of compassion and love. I wish I had something profound to say about her but her dedication to her daughter says it all. In a world of selfishness she showed another way.

  • This song makes me love my momma so much. thank you mom for sharing.

  • Peace

  • one of the most fabulous albums ever made, thank you Phoebe

  • Rest in peace sweet humble Phoebe. Thank you !

  • LOVE this song and so many of her others! Thank you Phoebe for your great artistry and soul and wow, what a wonderful mother you were! Now you're with your daughter in heaven.

  • She inspired me, too. Few female folk artists can Travis pick this well.

  • Rest in peace, on of the best soulful singers of all time.

  • Phoebe we love either both all of you....peace.

  • Rest in Peace, Sweet Sister.

  • great talent , will be missed

  • R.I.P.~Sing with the angels

  • May you RIP Phoebe! I admired your decision to take care of your daughter and sacrificed your career for her. You were a great lady and your music will live with me for ever!

  • R.I.P. Phoebe...I will truly miss you and your brilliance.

  • A Lovely Person... R.I.P. PHOEBE... smile :-)

  • She was one great, great voice and a magnificent heart. She gave so much more than she got.

  • I remember sunday mornings sitting on the porch having my hair done for church and my mom listening to phoebe or roberta flack. what a great memory now that my mom and now phoebe is gone. wow

  • rest in peace, Phoebe...

  • An amazing song, an amazing album. Hearing it brings back wonderful memories of a special time in my life.....and the very special friend who introduced me to this music.

  • She had a stroke January 19th2010.I just brought my New Year in with her standing right in front of me! What a night guys. Its coming upon a year and still no really good news Phoebe had a strange and hard life but her strength defined her.Lets all pray that her strength will bring her around once more! I Love and Pray for you everyday Phoebe, don't let me down.I speak for all your fans when I say no one in this world like the one and only Phoebe Snow!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I'm 55, and this album charmed and inspired me for years in the 1970s:)

  • My first Phoebe Snow song and the most memorable for me "Teach Me Tonight" ...why is it so hard to find, even on YouTube!?

  • I thank my freshman yr. college sweetie for turning me on to the whole album, and other things, on many nites in '75. All the songs on her debut album are gems.

  • to all Phobe Snow fans: I am not sure many people know but Phoebe suffered a devasting stroke in December 2009, she is not recovering fast. Let us pray, hope and support her with our best wishes for a healthy life and recovery. She has a FB page "REAL PHOEBE SNOW" and her manager and friend Sue reads all the messages to her.....It is so unfair that someting like thishappened to such a special human being......

  • Love reading these comments.

    ditto!

    Both! Both! Both!

  • who is the background singer? voice is superb. Makes Phoebe sound great!!!!!

  • You are speaking of the late-great Larry DeBari. We miss him! Search his name here on YouTube!

  • defines my life

  • Still one of my favorite Phoebe songs, I watch this video in amazement and in hope that Phoebe will recover and come back to us............

  • A great lady, a great, great songwriter...seeing her live was a terrific experience. C'mon world: get into Phoebe! It's worth it...there are not exactly a ton of great songwriters around these days (hip-hop is not songs)...Bravo, Phoebe!

  • Both, Phoebe, definately Both!

  • Larry Debari wish u were still here.

  • I have just got 2 see her live in person....absolutely one of my favorite artists of all time.....definatly on my bucket list as well.

  • Saw Phoebe at the TLA in Philadelphia in

'89. What a great show that was. This is one of my ALL TIME favorite songs. Singing one song with Phoebe is on the top of my 'bucket list' :)

  • OMG!!! I'd give anything to see Phoebe LIVE!!!

  • WOW!! I LOVE this song! She is amazing. Wish she would get back into the studio.....

  • Was backstage with her at a concert in 1976. She's very particular and SO VERRY talented. One of my favorite female artists. She can play the heck out of a guitar! But her phrasing and modulations are exceptional. None other like her..... that's for sure. Love the comment below about introducing her to future generations. She's one of the best!

  • She is just amazing ..period.

  • Can't believe what an accomplished guitarist the great Phoebe is...never knew that side. One of my favorite songs from the Phoebe Snow album, but I think this version is better if that's possible!!!!

  • My defining song!! All of us have at least two sides. I can only hope that the people I love can love either or both of me.

  • she has such heart...i can listen to her for hours...i've recently introduced my 7 year old granddaughter, Chloe, to her music...we sing along in the car all the time!

  • Beautiful..Can any body tell me the chords this talented lady is playing....Please.

  • I heard this when I was 17 and...in some trouble. The whole album (yes, album!) swooned me...and now, I'm 54, and still knocked out with this. Thank you, whoever made this vid, I've ached to hear this again a long time (and traveled too long and lost too much to have it with me). A sweet comfort...and life is very good now. A long journey!! But a good one.

  • Love this song! Thank you so much for posting it!

  • Diddo!!!!

  • God Bless, this woman is one of the most underplayed, underheard, (but DEFINITELY

not underrated) artists of all time. This

is how an angel sings, delicacy and power!

She could sing Happy Birthday and I'd be

    trippin'. Thanks for sharing this!
