  • I love this video! you know, I live in Ter Heijde! Yes i am actually one of the 600 remaining people who still live there. and you know what makes it even more bizarre? I did an intern at the "bird hospital" you mentioned! Haha how weird is that? Oh just one thing.. Ter Heijde was destroyed during WW2 to make room for the atlantik wall.. it was later rebuild just behind the dunes.. great videos! greetings from Holland

  • I died if I never had a bike. thats why I have 2 bikes :)

And since we are with 5 persons in this house-holding, we have have 10 bikes :D

  • Haha I love your videos :) And dutch people ride bike always, to school, to partys even to work haha (: -sorry for bad English ;p

  • Btw, ever heard of Flevoland, it's a Dutch province, like a state in AMerica but MUCH smaller, it was all sea

  • LOL, not being capable of riding a bike in Holland is like the same thing as not knowing what 2x2 is

  • we already build a entire province out of the water!

  • have you seen the delta werken?

  • oh wow, I always enjoy my time at the beach so much! if I'm lucky I see the beach 1 or 2 times in a year, because i live in a very small town nearby the border of gemany...

  • the Noordzee was indeed land, connecting the UK to the Netherlands, this is called "Doggerland", pre-historic thing. In fact not known by many at all :) Search it on Google if you like :)

  • You speak Dutch very well, very well!!

  • You should see Amsterdam Central Station... there are thousands of bikes there...

  • Haha, I love this! It's great to see foreign people trying to learn our language, and liking our country for something different then just the weed and the hookers. And you're great at speaking Dutch, most people won't even try to pronounce some words :').

  • I like your videos very much! When are you going back to holland?

  • it's not like people are going to call that number XD

  • it's so weird that americans don't ride bikes that often... i ride my bike everywhere. to school, the mall... church... well i guess the main reason for that is that americans can drive at age 16.

  • Nah, everything is too spread out and the drivers here don't look out for bicyclists. No bike paths or anything!

  • Lol! I'm glad that you think that

the Netherlands is the best country

    in the world! :P

Omg! Nooo, you are spamming on the end!

    LOL! You are so funny!

  • Ze komt zelfs uit Amerika :P

  • peculiarities it is dued to the special history of the Netherlands. Dutch has about 25 million native speakers. Dutch is also spoken in some other parts of the world with some very little differences or as own dutch based languages (Africaans). (e.g. South Africa, Namibia, Belgium, Luxembourg, Suriname, Dutch Antilles, Pas-de-Calais in France, Indonesia's first social class, USA, Germany)

  • Dutch and English are kinda similar because both belong to the West Germanic Languages (English, German, Dutch,(Flemish)) so they are directly related to each other. Turning north to south in Western Europe, those languages, especially dutch, show an increasing usage of french influenced words that have been adopted into the languages. Those words are used in adjusted forms and complementary to the basic germanistic forms. The dutch call that process 'verfransing' and like most lingual

  • Your uncle is a nice guy but he speaks a bit what we call "steenkolen engels" :-)

  • omg your uncle is sooo cute trying so hard to speak english XD

  • whaha hoe cool is dat xD je praat gewoon nederlands,

    or

whaha how cool is that xD you just speak dutch like that :P

  • Wow. I'm impressed that you can pronouce it that easily. Most American get a headache. xD

  • Cute Very Cute! I have a friend in Germany he says don't bother trying to learn German. They all know english so well! lol :o) But i still want to learn :o)

  • Wow how many years did you say you ride not a bike? =P We Dutchman almost every day ride a bike =D

  • Too many years. =P I wish I could ride my bike here.

  • Indeed. Every morning riding my little bike to school. Then back to home. Hehehh. xD

  • @POWERPUFFKE Niet voor mij, mijn fiets is gejat. :P

  • So fun to see, how things normal for me, as a dutch person, are different and 'cute' for you.

    Really nice to watch.

  • Exactly! I'm always watching video's, images, from all over the world but it's at least as interesting to see how 'the rest of the world' sees our habitat.

  • Hello, thank you, this was interesting, I didn't know about the village and I am dutch and go to the beach as often as I can. As you can see in my video response I like making photographs. I enjoyed the vid.. I'm moving to the US soon, i will miss the beach (no beaches in AR).

  • Arkansas? My goodness, that *is* a big change. Good luck!

  • Yay Holland is het beste!

  • whats it about u guys thinking our cars are small :(

i mean they are... but do you have to rub it in... :p

and your dutch is very understandable ( for me at least )

  • No, I like the little cars! They're cute!

  • lol, it's weird to see someone of your age, that has troubles on a bicycle. (I'm Dutch)

  • I know! I feel like I should have to wear a "Student Driver" sign on my bike when I'm in Holland.

  • No, I was only out there for an hour or so, so I didn't get to see the village. I love listening to *other* people speak Dutch, but I can't stand listening to myself. They speak it so crisply, while I have a horrible, sloppy-sounding accent!

  • The story about the old village that is under water was so sad. Did you get to see it during low tide? I love listening to you speak Dutch. It's interesting how much you have to change your voice. :)
