  • No data, no sale.

    D. Steffen, USA.

  • @davian3 You are absolutely right, we would not sell this machine without data that we can absolutely guarantee, and for me, that means third party tested data. As we are still in development, and working with pre-production prototypes, this is not yet available. We have been giving our own data to people who contact us directly and ask for it, so if you are interested please go through the powerhousewind website.

  • THIS IS A RIP OFF.

  • Why not two blades? I don't get it.

  • @AlternativePowerMan We did consider two blades, two blades have some advantages: you can have a teeter bearing which reduces blade stress, and the optimization for two gives a wider chord than for three which is good. Two blades have some dynamic problems with free yawing machines as most small turbines are. We decided we could get the advantages of two blades, but more so, and with some extras by going to one blade with two counterweights. Our rotor yaws like a three blade machine.

  • What the ?.... It just looks so . . . . idk. cool and weird at the same time. How does that effect the output?

  • @derman077 The single blade works very well for harvesting energy for this scale of machines. We have optimized the blade to run at the same tip speed as 3 blade machines, which means we have a much wider blade chord. For this size of machine, the wider chord means smoother more stable flow, and better airfoil performance. Having only one tip and one trailing edge also makes the rotor very quiet. So in short, we get a better performing quieter wing.

  • @curriew How can I get one of these units?

  • @derman077 We still have some product development work, and production development work to do which will take some research funding and investment. If all goes well, we will have the product for sale to our first customer list in New Zealand by late this year. If you are interested, register through the website (search for 'powerhouse wind thinair') or follow the website or facebook (search for 'thinair wind turbine')

  • Forget Ridley Scott's dystopia - this Bladerunner is sprinting to the head of the field! Less is more! Will Bryce let you use 'the power of one'?
