  • Is it true that the All-Star game in 2012 was awarded to the Kansas City Royals?

  • Yes, the All Star game will be at Kauffman Stadium in 2012.

  • Hillman was an excellent supervisor who saw uncommonly.

  • Go Fighters!

  • Why do Japanese baseball teams have English letters on their uniforms?

  • nippon is not english. it's japanese romaji. japan has not only hiragata, katakana and kanji but also romaji based on western letters.

  • I'm confused. I thought romaji was merely a transliteration of the Japanese language into English characters. My question is why don't Japanese uniforms/stadiums feature Japanese characters exclusively?

  • As for the team names the letters are in English because Japanese teams are not named after cities, but rather after the company which owns them. Most of these companies do international businesses so their names are usually spelled in Romanji. As for the rest, American-English terms are used in baseball pretty much anywhere.

  • Many thanks Heartless. First answer that i heard on the subject that makes sense.

  • Hillman = New manager of the Kansas City Royals. Woohoo.

  • I met Mr Hillman this past weekend...best guy you could ever meet. Congrats to him and his team.
